**************************************************** Aggressive Inline Walkthrough Version 0.91 8/11/02 Created by Wilikai (ShadowG64@aol.com) **************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------- I. Introduction ----------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Aggressive Inline! Finally, a game has dethroned Tony Hawk as the greatest extreme sports video game! Don't get me wrong, I love Tony Hawk, but I was getting a bit tired of the usual format. The folks at Z-Axis have now broken that mold, and created a new, fun-to-play, original game - Aggressive Inline! Now let's get on with the walkthrough, shall we? ----------------------------------------------------------------- II. Controlling your Skater ----------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a breakdown of the moves you can pull in Aggressive Inline. For the most part, the control is setup like THPS, but there are a few subtle differences. If you're having trouble with any of these, go through the tutorial in the game. It's very comprehensive, and will help you out. - To move your skater around, simply push the digital pad or left analog stick in the direction you'd like to move. Pressing Down will make you brake, and pressing Up will cause you to accelerate slightly. - To do a tighter turn, hold down L1 or R1 (depending on which way you're turning) - Holding down X will cause you to move faster. Releasing X will make your skater jump. - Holding R1 or L1 while in the air will cause your skater to spin, increasing points. - Pressing Up while jumping will shoot you forward out of a bowl or off of a ramp. - Pressing Square while in the air will cause you to do a trick. Pressing different directions or combinations of directions on the d-pad or left analog stick will alter which trick you do. - Whenever you're near an edge or a railing, pressing Triangle will cause your skater to grind. You must then balance yourself by pressing Left or Right, as indicated by the bar above your skater's head. - If you're approaching an edge or railing at a perpendicular angle, you can press Triangle to do a handplant on it. This must be balanced, like the grind. - Another move you must balance is the manual. To pull a manual, simply press Up, Down or Down, Up before landing. This will make your skater balance on one skate, earning you extra points. Make sure you balance using Up and Down as indicated by the bar above your skater's head. - If you're approaching a horizontal bar (like a small pipe), pressing O will cause your skater to whip around it. - If you're approaching a vertical bar (like a lamp post), pressing O will cause your skater to whip around it. - If you're right behind a vehicle, pressing O will cause your skater to "skitch", or hold on to the back bumper. - If you're approaching a low ledge, pressing O will cause you to "vault" over it. - Gonna land sideways? Press O to "bail" and your skater will right himself. You lose the points for the trick, but it's better than falling down! - If you see someone standing around with a big red ring over their head, stop near them and press O. They will give you a challenge to complete. - Pressing R2 will make your skater do a Cess Slide. In other words, they turn around and begin to skate backwards. Tricks are worth more this way, but harder to pull off until you perfect your "Fakie" rating. - When approaching a wall, skate almost parallel to it, then jump against it, press Down, then X. You will do a wallride. (This sounds complicated, but it's really not.) ----------------------------------------------------------------- III. General Tips ----------------------------------------------------------------- - Use the Cess Slide coming down from a ramp jump, then quickly hit Up, Down or Down, Up to go into a manual. Doing this repeatedly will earn you monster points. - Grind, grind, grind! Grinding from rail to rail is the easiest way to to get big combos in this game. - Work up all of your skills. In Aggressive Inline, stats are broken up into seven sections. To work up your skater's stats in one section, you yourself must get better at it by practicing the moves over and over. Here's a breakdown of the seven sections: -Jump -Speed -Spin -Grind -Manual -Fakie (skating backwards) -Wall Ride - Pressing Select will bring up your challenges. If you don't know what one means, press O to get a fly-by view of the area or X to get a more detailed description of the challenge. - Keep an eye on your special bar! If it flashes red, that means you can do a special trick! If it empties, it's game over for you. - If you do get a game over, don't use the "continue" option. First of all, it goes on your skater record (not too important unless you're a perfectionist like me... =) Second of all, it costs you points. Finally, you can just go through the menu and back into the level - no point reduction. ----------------------------------------------------------------- IV. Walkthrough ----------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not going to walk you through the Tutorial, since it walks you through itself. Some of it's not easy, though, so come back later if you're having problems. (The Cess Slide part is difficult. If you keep trying, though, you should get it.) General notes on walkthrough: - Secret characters are found by completing all the challenges on a level. To see how many challenges you have completed, hit select. - Cheats are unlocked by collecting all the juiceboxes in a level. To see how many you have collected, press start and choose "View Loot". (Thanks to jspazuk for the correction there.) - All Difficulty levels are simply my opinion, and are relative to the level. That means that a Tough challenge in an early level may be the same as an Easy challenge in a later level. - If a challenge doesn't appear on your challenge list, do some of the other ones, or talk to people - it'll show up. - Keys to unlocked areas are found later in the game. If there's not a challenge that says, "Find the ____ Key", you're NOT going to be able to find a key in that level. The first such challenge is found in the Cannery. LEVEL ONE - MOVIE LOT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |This level has a fairly basic layout. You start outside, at one end of a | |long street. Near the start point is a side road, and from there you can | |enter a building to do some sweet tricks in an inner area. The challenges | |are easy and the prime trick spots are many, so this is a great place to | |level up your skater in. | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Available from the start | |Secret Character: The Bride | |Secret Stat Booster: Jump | |Key: Museum | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- Challenges: 1. Get 100,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy This one's a piece of cake. Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. 20,000 Point Trick (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy If you're really having problems, try using the bars and ledges on the sides of the street. Jumping from one grind to another makes for some great combos, especially if you do a quick trick between them. 3. 5 Bike Racks in One Trick (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy On the opposite end of the street where you begin, on the left side, there are six bike racks in a row. Get on the first and grind, then jump to the next and grind again. If the bike racks are a little to the left or right, don't worry about it. Your skater will be able to grind them. If they're far to the left or right, though, you'll have to press Left or Right to cause your skater to jump to one side. If you're having trouble with this, just keep practicing. 4. Skitch a Bus (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Find a bus. Go up behind it. Press O. Got it? 5. Grind 2 Traffic Lights (3 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate When you first start out, there is a railing to your right. If you jump on it and grind, you will see another railing right above it. Jump to that and grind. It will go in a wavy pattern. When you hit the end, jump to transfer onto the first traffic light. When you hit the end of that, jump to the left to transfer onto the second traffic light. This one will probably take you a few tries. 6. Get on the Guard House Pipe (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Go to the end of the side road, by the guard house. (Anyone else notice how huge that thing is? They must have some giant that works there - my skater can't even see out the window!) At the end of the side road, there is a small wooden ramp. Jump off of that onto the railing above the guard house. From there, you should be able to transfer onto the guard house pipe. Note: You don't have to do a trick on the pipe, just touch it. 7. Grind Cliff Edge (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough When you first enter the building from the side street, turn left, then follow the ramp up on the left. At the top, turn right and go up another ramp. Grind the rail on your right, then jump to the right onto some lighting. Follow this until it turns, then jump left and try to land on the little grassy ledge by the wall. If you fall over, that's fine, as long as you get on the ledge. Once you're on there, turn around and start grinding the cliff edge. 8. Upper Quarter Pipe Transfer (1 pt.) Difficulty: Slightly Tough The last of the initial challenges, this is also the hardest. Go the the set of quarter pipes (use the challenge fly-by to see what I mean). From here, you simply have to transfer from one to another by going of the pipes at an angle. It may take a while, but you'll get it. Note: This is easier if you have full juice or a high jump stat. 9. Mausoleum Transfer (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 2/3 challenge points. Enter the "scary" part of the inside lot and find the mausoleums. Use the challenge fly-by if you don't know what you're looking for. Then simply go up the ramp on one side and angle it so you'll come down on the other. Cake. 10. Rocket Grab Transfer Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to the photographer on the street This one may take a few tries, but it's not that hard. Simply transfer over the tunnel, from one ramp to the other, and do a Rocket Grab (Down and Square) in between. If you're having trouble with this, try just doing the transfer, then work in the trick. 11. Front Flip Transfer Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to the photographer inside the building, near the entrance. See the pipes with the flashing arrows on them? Transfer from one to the other, and do a Front Flip (Up, Up, Square) in between. Again, if you're having trouble with this, try just doing the transfer, then work in the trick. 12. 40,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to the woman on the street There are a bunch of ledges and bike racks near the woman. Grind and transfer, grind and transfer. Not too tough. 13. 60,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to ghost's tombstone in "scary" section of studio You're on your own here. Do whatever you do best, be it vert tricks, grinding, whatever. It shouldn't be too difficult if you've been working on your skills. 14. Grind the Boulder Chains (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: You grind the cliff edge Get into the bowl behind the boulder, and use it to reach the chains. When you get near a chain, press Triangle to grind it. Use the shadows of the chains to find them. If you fall down below, use the same way you did in challenge 7 to get back up. 15. Get 500,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 100,000 points. Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 16. Get 1,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 500,000 points. Just like challenge 15, you'll just get this over time. 17. Grind the Third Traffic Light Difficulty: Tough Appears after: You grind the first two traffic lights. Okay, this one took a while, but I finally figured it out. From the starting point, turn left and go down that ramp. After a while, you'll see a wooden ramp. Use that to shoot your skater up to a ledge you can grind. Look to the left for another, higher ledge. Grind transfer up to that, then jump off to the right to get onto the second light. Grind down that, then jump to the left to the third light. Tip from Austin Parker: First look at the bike racks on the sidewalk,There is one right next to the Traffic light. Line yourself up with the light and vault over the bike rack. Grind the light and transfer to the third light. 18. Grind Cable Above Tree (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Hidden This is a Hidden challenge, so it won't show up until after you've done it. Also, you have to complete challenge 13 first. Then get on the lighting like you did to grind the cliff edge, but instead of jumping left after the curve, jump right onto another wire. (It has the tree branch wrapped around it.) Just grind the wire, and you're set! 19. 5,000,000 Accumulated Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Getting Movie Lot key in Boardwalk 20. Wall Ride Chalk Board (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Movie Lot key in Boardwalk As you approach the hanging chalk board from the upper level of the mad scientist room, get on the lower level of the bookshelf to your right. Grind this to the end, then jump off to the left and wallride the chalkboard. 21. 100,000 Point Trick, 3 Wall Rides (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Movie Lot key in Boardwalk If you got the special trick for this level, you'll know where to go. (If not, scroll to the bottom of the challenge list to find out what I'm talking about.) Wallride your heart out, then land in a manual and find somewhere to grind. Get 100,000 points and you'll be set. 22. Get the Museum Backroom Key (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Movie Lot key in Boardwalk After you go up the ramp to the higher level of the mad scientist room, (with the bookcases), turn to the left. See the railing to your left? Grind it going back toward the ramp (preferably at a high speed.) As you hit the end, jump off and to the right to grab the key! 23. 600,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to head-in-a-jar in mad scientist room. Must have Movie Lot key from Boardwalk. This one's not easy, at least for a Cess-Sliding fool like myself. After getting the challenge, quickly skate out to the long ditch in the middle of the "scary" area. Use it as a halfpipe to do Cess Slides, and hope your time doesn't run out! 24. Grind the Four Small Switches (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to scientist in mad scientist room. Must have Movie Lot key from Boardwalk. I'll list the switches in the order they're seen in the fly-by. 1. In the corner of the room: it's very very easy to find and grind. 2. On the opposite side of the large tank than the scientist: use a quarter pipe underneath the switch and on either side to shoot yourself up and grind the switch. 3. Up high, in a corner: wallride the chalkboard just like in challenge 20, then jump off to the left onto a green pipe. Before this curves, jump off of it and grind the switch against the wall. 4. Up high, against the wall: get on the green pipe from before, but follow it as it curves this time. You'll transfer to a ledge. At the end of that ledge, you'll have to jump left to grind another pipe, then jump left to grind the switch. 25. Grind the Large Switch (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to scientist in mad scientist room. Must have completed challenge 24. This is by far my favorite challenge in the whole game. It's a long, complicated grind, one of those challenges that separates the men from the boys. If you can complete this, you have my thumbs up. (Make that a sore thumb up, since I just spent an hour and a half finishing this one. To do the trick, get on the last green pipe from the fourth small switch in challenge 24. Instead of jumping to the right to grind the small switch, jump forward and grind left on another pipe, then IMMEDIATELY jump up and to the left again to grind another. Jump left again onto the top of the chalkboard, and then left AGAIN onto another green pipe. At the end of this one, jump to the right to grind the big switch! SPECIAL TRICK: Against one wall of the indoor area is a large, spooky-looking mansion. Behind it are a few wooden hills. Start on either side of the mansion, and use one of the small wooden hills to wallride either wall. Transfer to the other side of the short passageway to wallride that wall, then back again. Go back and forth until you reach a small window on the top floor of the mansion. This will take a few tries, but can be done with enough practice. Surprisingly enough, this one is easier to do WITHOUT the special bar flashing. The special trick is the Double Flatspin, and can be done by pressing Left, Right, Right, Left, Square. (Thanks to blacklabel401, jspazuk, spreadum, and JEadie for the info.) BONUS STAT: The bonus stat for the first level is extremely easy: It's a jump stat, located on top of one of the light poles from the early challenges. Just do the challenges, and you'll pick this up without a problem. LEVEL TWO - CIVIC CENTER ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |This level has a more complicated layout. The nice thing is that it's all | |centered in one area. However, a lot of it looks the same and it's often | |hard to find something you're looking for. Follow my directions as best | |as you can. | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Getting 8 challenge points in Movie Lot | |Secret Character: Goddess | |Secret Stat Booster: Speed | |Key: Airfield | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- 1. Get 250,000 points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. 35,000 point trick (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy There are places to grind everywhere. Just find a nice long stretch and go at it. 3. Skatepark Pipe Transfers (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy There are four quarter pipes arranged like this: 2 4 1 3 View the fly-by if you don't know what I mean. Just transfer from 1 to 2, from 2 to 4 (or 4 to 2), and from 3 to 4. 4. Grind the Light Wires (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Find the square of light wires (near the pipes in challenge 3). Go outside of the small square and look for snowy ground that goes down. On either side of that ground is a small white brick wall. Get some speed, grind the wall going up, and jump onto the light wires. Just keep your balance long enough to get on all four wires and you'll pass the challenge. 5. Get Into the Bowl Held by Guy (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate This one took me a while... Follow either of the wires near the guy's arms to where they end at the bottom. You'll see a very small, very narrow ramp. The key is to grind UP the ramp, jumping off and onto the light wire, taking you to the bowl. It took me several tries to get the timing of the jump right, but you'll get it eventually. It seems to be a bit more luck than skill. 6. 75,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Appears after: Talking to guy on bridge near statue with two bowls This one is very, very easy. You have two minutes to do, basically, two big tricks. Just hop up onto the large black wire going around the middle of the level (the one with the Yoohoo billboards) and do a long grind trick or two. 7. 110,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to guy on bridge near statue with two bowls. Must have completed challenge 6. This one is the same as above, with a higher point requirement. Follow the same strategy as challenge 6. 8. Grind Transfer Lookback Judo Photo (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to the photographer on bridge First of all, watch the fly-by (by pressing select, then O on the challenge). This one's a bit tough. You have to go the bridge with the broken statue (challenge 17), then, facing the center of the level, jump off of the left side and grind the wires. Hopefully, by the time you get to the photographer's bridge, you'll have enough speed to jump off, do the Lookback Judo (DownRight and Square), and land in a grind on the other side of the bridge. 9. Grind the Statue Wings (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to the colonial guy near the statue Skate to the tip of either of the wings, then turn around. Grind the small wall next to the wing, and jump to transfer to the wing. If you have enough speed and can keep your balance, you'll make it across to the other side. 10. Transfer From Wing to Sword (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Completing challenge 9, talking to colonial guy again Get on the wing the same way you did for challenge 9, then transfer midway to the sword. You barely have to touch it. 11. Handplant the Gargoyle Heads (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to the guy below the gargoyles This one's simple. Just skate up the two ramps below the gargoyles and press Up and Triangle to handplant the gargoyles. They'll fall, and you'll pass the challenge. 12. Grind the 3 Wires to the Big Ball (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to guy below the ball Okay, let's get the hardest one out of the way first. Go ALL the way to the other side of the level, following the third wire. You'll see a statue of a guy holding up a bowl. You can either a) get up in the bowl by grinding up the sides of the statue, then transferring to the wire, or b) use the bowl below the statue to shoot your skater up to the wire, then press Triangle near it to grind it. Either way, you only have to grind the rail for a second, then jump off. Now for the easy ones. Follow either of the other two wires, then keep heading toward the corner of the map. When you reach the corner, turn around and go back, watching for a ledge against the wall. Skate carefully uf the ledge until it forms a small hump. Use this hump to reach another, wider ledge right next to it, then turn around again. Where that wide ledge meets the wall, you'll see another ledge jutting out. The wire is right there. Grind it, then do the other side. 13. Grind the Hands of the Clock Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to guy below clock tower. Must have challenge 12 complete. Remember the wide ledge you got onto for challenge 12? Go to the one on the left side again. Use the small halfpipe there to reach the balcony right below the clock. Now comes the hard part: See the small little ramp? You have to grind the ledge of the balcony until you grind up the ramp, then jump off and catch the flagpole above you. Swing off of the flagpole onto the clock hands, and hit Triangle to grind them. 14. 40,000 Points in Bus Pipes (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to guy near broken buses. Must have challenge 12 complete. I hope you're good at Cess Sliding, because you're gonna need it. Get into the halfpipe made by the buses and go up one side, preferably aiming straight. As you're landing, do a Cess Slide into a manual, then go off the other side. Rinse and repeat until you have a 40,000 point trick. If you can throw tricks into the mix, do, because that will speed things up considerably. Tip from Travis Brown-John: The easier, kind of cheap, way to do this challenge is to grind the wire above the bus pipe, chain a grind combo of > 40,000 points, and then drop off the wire, landing inside the bus pipe. You'll get credit for all your grind points as if you pulled them off in the pipes! 15. Grind the 4 Window Ledges (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to the man by the statue with two bowls There are several quarter ramps below the ledges. Go off of them at an angle, then grind the ledge to clear off the pigeons. If your jump rating is high enough, you can even just transfer from ledge to ledge. 16. Grind the Justice Beam (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to man on balcony near ledges from challenge 15. Must have completed challenge 15. Use the quarter ramps below the statue to get up into the bowls. Once you're in one, jump up out of it and try to come near the statue's arm. When you do, hit Triangle to grind on it. 17. Wall Ride the Broken Statue (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to the radio on a bridge (look for the statue without a light on) This one's pretty simple. Just grind the edge of the bridge until you reach the statue, then jump off and do a wallride on the statue. 18. Grind the Fireworks Rail (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to guy below fireworks rail Here's a toughie. Go down to the lowest point beneath the fireworks rail and look for a two small statues holding up a quarter pipe. Shoot off the pipe going right, and you shold land on an awning. Go to the other end of the awning, then turn around and go back to the end you started on. Using the speed you've gained, shoot up into the air from the ramp at the end of the awning and press Triangle. You should handplant on a small bar. Try to jump out of the handplant and to your right. If you can do this, you're where you need to be. From here, simply grind along the rail closest to the wall, passing by all three fireworks. 19. Get 600,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 250,000 points Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 20. Get 1,500,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 600,000 points Just like challenge 19, you'll just get this over time. 21. Fetch the Three Parrots to the Chef (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to the chef near the fireworks rail Who's in charge of the grammar on this challenge? Anyway, picking up parrots is easy, just skate over them and they'll land on your shoulder. You then have to deliver them back to the chef, though, one at a time. Just go up to him and press O. However, if you have a parrot on your shoulder and you're on the way to the chef, DON'T FALL. It will fly off and you will have to go get it again. The first parrot can be found near the statue from challenge 5. Get back in the bowl, like you did in challenge 5, then grind around the bowl. Transfer onto the fourth wire (the one farthest to the right when looking at the front of the statue), and you'll pick of the parrot at the end. Go back to the chef and deliver it to him by pressing O. The second parrot is on a power line near the broken buses. If you've set off the fireworks, this isn't that bad. On the ground level, two wires will be laying on the ground. Grind up the right one, and you'll hit the parrot soon enough. The third parrot is found near the statue of two arms holding a bowl. Take a quarter pipe up to a ledge, then grind the ledge to the right until you've caught the bird. 22. Returned Skates (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Hidden This is a Hidden challenge, so it won't appear until after you've done it. Start on the bridge where you had to wallride the statue. Facing the center of the level, jump off of the left side and grind the wires. You'll pick up the skates as you grind. 23. Get 5,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 24. 350,000 Point Trick, See Details (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum Underneath the large statue holding two bowls is a set of quarter pipes that look like this: _____ ---> | | <--- \_____ ______/ Above each short end the arrows are pointing to is a statue. Go up either short end, swing on the statue arm, and land in a manual. You'll quickly go up the other short end. Don't do another pole yet, but keep doing Cess Slides on the short ends until you've reached 350,000 points. When you have, go up the short end one more time and swing on the pole. 25. Jump Over Both Trains (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum If you don't have your special bar flashing, this isn't gonna work. Use a quarter pipe on the train platform to gain some speed, then skate toward the trains. A small ramp will shoot you up, and you will (hopefully) clear the trains. You don't have to make it all the way to the other side of the platform, just over the trains. 26. Grind on the Train (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum Stand on the tracks and wait for a train to go by. When it does, jump up onto it and grind. Sometimes the game counts it, sometimes it doesn't; don't ask me why... 27. Grind Transfer Between Two Trains (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum Stand on the tracks between the two trains. Jump up and grind on one, then transfer to the other. There's really not much more to it. 28. Grind the Rail From 3rd to 1st Floor (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum The hardest part of this challenge is finding the damn spot. View the fly-by a few times, you should be able to find it. It helps to find the cameraman, then see where he is in the fly-by. Once you find it, go up to the third floor and grind all the way down on the right rail, just like the fly-by shows. 29. 5 Benches in One Trick (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum Start on the side that's at the end of the fly-by. Grind the right bench, then transfer to the left. Grind and transfer all the way down, staying on the left side, and you'll hit five benches. 30. Grind an Awning (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum On the second floor of the lobby, there is a level with two plies of luggage on it. From this area, you can get on a long metal beam that takes you all the way to an awning. You'll bust a bunch of lights on the way. It doesn't matter which way you go. 31. Grind, Swing, Grind Torch Statue (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum Go to the third floor of the train station, near the giant statue shown in the fly-by. Jump over the rail to grind the first rope, then jump to swing on the horizontal bar. Jump off the bar and to the left to grind the third rope. 32. 600,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to man on first floor of lobby 600,000 points is a lot for only a minute twenty, so get to work right away. I recommend going up to the area with the luggage piles and using the halfpipes there. Three tricks of 200,000 points each should do the trick - and remember, you can keep going past 0 seconds as long as you're continuing a trick you've already started. 33. 850,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to man on first floor of lobby. Must have completed challenge 32. Use the same strategy as above, just get more points this time! 34. Grind Transfer Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to photographer on second floor of train station Get on the awning the same way you did in challenge 30, then transfer to the sprinkler pipe at the end of it. The timing can be a little tough, since the sprinkler is not easy to reach and the guy taking photos interrupts the trick. 35. Find the Airfield Key (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Civic Center key in Museum I can see why this one is only worth 1 challenge point; it's simple compared to all the other key challenges. On the second floor of the lobby, there is a level with two plies of luggage on it. From this area, look up to see a platform above you. Get on it by using the quarter pipes underneath it. Back up to the glass wall, then skate off the end of the platform and grind the ropes across the gap to another platform. Bust through the glass on that side to get the key. 36. Wellfare State (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Hidden This is a hidden challenge, so it won't appear until after you've completed the trick. On the second floor of the train station, there's a guy cursing an ATM. Grind the railing going up to the ATM, then transfer to the orange bar above it to complete the challenge. (Thanks to Blacklabel401 for this great tip!) SPECIAL TRICK: After grinding the hands of the clock tower, return to the balcony below the clock and enter the now-opened doors. Grind the wire that falls down into the pit, and you'll pick up the special trick "Bio 900" (Right, Up, Left, Square). BONUS STAT: The bonus "Speed" stat can be found on a balcony behind the statue with the two bowls. Just use one of the quarter ramps below the balcony to shoot your skater up there. LEVEL THREE - INDUSTRIAL ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Getting 8 challenge points in Civic Center | |Secret Character: Junkie | |Secret Stat Booster: Grind | |Key: Cannery | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- 1. Get 400,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. 45,000 Point Trick With 3 Vaults (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Tough for me, at least! I suck at vaults, so this one took a long time. The best area to do this, I think is just the lower level of the indoor area. You're going to have to do two vaults in a row, then turn around while manualing to find a third. (Electro_Element recommends the room that the special trick is found in, but I've had more luck with the lower area. Try both until you get it.) 3. Grind 4 Robot Arms (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Right at the starting point, turn around and go up the quarter pipe. There is a rail above it that you can grind to the left, then transfer onto a small walkway. From here, watch the robot arms and wait for two of them to form a line with each other. Jump over the rail, grind the two arms, then go do two more the same way. 4. 10 Grinds in a Single Trick (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy The room you start out in is perfect for this. Just find one long rail and do ten grinds on it, or transfer from one to another. This isn't too tough. 5. 100,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to the intercom on the wall behind the glass tunnel, in the starting room Again, just do what you do best, whether it's grinds, vert, whatever. Hopefully, you like grinds, because there's lots of opportunities for that in the room. 6. Grind the High Rail (3 pts.) Difficulty: Appears after: Talking to retarded janitor near the glass tunnel, in the starting room Get in the half pipe above the glass tunnel, and jump up to grind the pipe on the wall to the left. At the end of that pipe, grind transfer to another pipe in front of you, going left. This is not an easy grind - it's a lot of uphill, so you'll need some speed. You don't have to make it all the way to the end of the rail for the challenge to count. 7. Flip the Switch (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to scientist straight ahead from start point Get in the half pipe above the glass tunnel, and jump up to grind the pipe on the wall to the right. At the end of that pipe, grind transfer to another pipe in front of you. At the end of this, there will be a box in the wall where the pipe goes in. Jump and grind that to the right, and you'll hit the switch. 8. Pipe Transfer Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: talking to the photographer near the holographic car in the starting room This is a pretty easy transfer, no trick necessary. If you can't do this, email me, and I'll send my friend Paul over to punch you. It won't get you the challenge, but at least I'll be entertained. 9. Get 750,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 400,000 points Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 10. Get 2,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 750,000 points Just like challenge 9, you'll just get this over time. 11. Grind the Last 2 Robot Arms (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Completing challenge 3 This is very simple. Use the same strategy from challenge 3, and just get whatever arms you didn't already. 12. Clear the Junkyard (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to big broken-looking computer in junkyard From the starting point, turn around and go up the quarter pipe, then grind a wire to your right. Your skater should end up on a balcony. Go towards the door and it will open up, presenting you with two new doors. Go through either one, and you'll be in the junkyard. After talking to the computer, you'll have a chance to clear away parts from the junkyard. You can do this if you really wan to, but the challenge isn't that tough, so I recommend just hitting Start, then choosing "Do Challenge". Then just skate around and get 50,000 points. You have three minutes, so it really shouldn't be too difficult. 13. 4,000,000 Accumulated Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Getting the Industrial Key from the Cannery Just like challenge 10, you'll just get this over time. 14. 400,000 Point Trick (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting the Industrial Key from the Cannery (I think) Two words: Cess. Sliding. Go to work! 15. Grind Transfer - Bio Flip (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Getting the Industrial Key from the Cannery Get up on the ugly brown ledge from challenge 17, and use the quarter pipes on the ends to get some speed going. Start one one end grindingthe side of the ledge, then jump when you get to the hill in the middle. Do a Bio Flip in the air (Down, Up, Square), and land in a grind on the other side of the hill. It's a lot of buttons to be pushed in a short time, but it's not impossible. 16. Grind the Junkyard Sign (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting the Industrial Key from the Cannery Get up on the ugly brown ledge from challenge 17, and use the quarter pipe on the end to your right to reach a wire. Grind the wire to the left, then transfer to a big red construction beam. Grind this to the left, and you'll hit the sign. 17. Grind the Test Switch (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to scientist near monster truck. Must have Industrial Key from the Cannery. See the target the truck is going to drive into? Above it is a large brown ledge. Use the quarter pipe near the dog to get up on the ledge, (this may take a few tries), then go up the quarter pipe at the end of the ledge to get on a rail. Grind this to the left, then transfer to the vent that the switch is on. You'll hit it as you grind. 18. 500,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate-Tough Appears after: Talking to dog in monster truck room. Must have Industrial Key from the Cannery. Timed runs can be hard if you don't know Cess Slides. Use the halfpipe near you to do trick after trick, all linked by Cess Slides and manuals. 19. Pornstar Grind Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to photographer in junkyard. Must have Industrial Key from the Cannery. Anyone know how to do this? 20. Get the Cannery Key (3 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting the Industrial Key from the Cannery Under the ugly brown ledge from challenge 17, there are two quarter pipes facing one another. Go back and forth on these, doing tricks and gaining speed. When you're at max speed (and preferably full juice), go up the pipe near the junk cars. Press Up and Triangle to perform a handplant on the topmost car, and you'll grab the key. SPECIAL TRICK: After flipping the switch in challenge 7, use the now opened bowl to shoot your skater up onto a rail. Grind the rail either way and you'll find yourself in what I call the "high room". Now, facing the wall, turn to your right. At the end of the room is a halfpipe; use it to jump up into another mini-area. Here, you have a few quarter pipes and some edges to grind. See the big floating head? Grind over to it and you'll get the Superman Late Flip (Up, Right, Down, Square). BONUS STAT: The bonus "Grind" stat can be found on high railing. Get in the half pipe above the glass tunnel, and jump up to grind the pipe on the wall to the right. At the end of that pipe, grind transfer to another pipe in front of you. Go long enough, and you'll hit the powerup. LEVEL FOUR - BOARDWALK ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Getting 8 challenge points in Industrial | |Secret Character: Captain | |Secret Stat Booster: Grind | |Key: Movie Lot | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- 1. Get 600,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. Pier Entrance Gap (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy I had some trouble with this one until I figured out a good trick: The right side has another quarter pipe that curves off of it. Get some air on that pipe, then come down and angle to the right to go off the pipe for the gap. You'll clear it easily. 3. Edge of Pier Grind (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy If you watch the fly-by on this, you'll know exactly what you need to do. It's a simple grind transfer, and you should be able to do it on your first try. 4. 70,000 Point Trick (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy-Moderate I have a range of difficulty on this one because it depends on how good you are at Cess Sliding. There are many, many halfpipes in this level, and going up and down them doing Cess Slides into manuals is an easy way to get 70,000 points in one trick. If you really can't do the vert stuff, try to find a nice spot to link grinds. 5. Hand Plant Ferris Wheel Sear 1 Rev. (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Find the ferris wheel near the pier, then look for a halfpipe at one end underneath an evil-looking clown. Get some air going back on forth on the halfpipe, then press Triangle while in the air near the ferris wheel. You should handplant one of the seats. Try to keep your balance until the wheel has gone all the way around. The "Challenge Complete" notice won't come on screen until after you jump out of the handplant, so you have to keep an eye on the wheel and decide when you've gone all the way around. (If you're having trouble lining up this jump, try to go off of the middle seashell on the pipe. This also lines up with the fourth star on the other pipe.) 6. Get 1,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 600,000 points Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 7. Get 2,500,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 1,000,000 points Just like challenge 6, you'll just get this over time. 8. 150,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to clown between the swinging shark and octopus rides My best recommendation for this one, like challenge 4, is to find a nice bowl or halfpipe and do vert tricks connected by Cess Slides. The swinging shark bowl is a nice place to do this in, as long as you avoid the small gap in it (and the swinging shark above you). This one's not easy, but it's doable. 9. 5 Passes Past the Jaws of Defeat (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to guy near swinging shark ride I didn't get how to do this one at first, and now I don't get what's so tough about it. Get in the bowl under the swinging shark, and do jumps off of the long ends (near the shark's mouth and tail). I think if you get knocked out of the bowl, you have to start over, but I didn't fall out, even when the shark hit my skater. 10. Grind 4 Octopus Arms (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to repairman in the bowl underneath the octopus Use the bowl underneath the octopus to shoot your skater up to the ring above it. When you hit a break in the rail, near a sign that says "Octopus", the rail bends out, giving you a good angle to grind on one of the arms. It doesn't matter which four you grind. Tip from Paul Martindale: I found that jumping into the middle of the octopus ride itself, lining up with an arm and hitting grind, a) was easier than grinding the upper rim and risking missing and B)If done right you slide back into the middle hence reducing the tedium of having to jump back up and on. 11. Grind 8 Octopus Arms (3 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Completing challenge 10 Do the same thing you did in challenge 10, but grind the four you haven't. By the way, the arms you've already grinded on won't have their lights on, so go for the ones that do. 12. Grind the Ferris Wheel Wing Nut (3 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to the clown near the ferris wheel. Must have completed challenge 5. This one is easier than it may seem. You know the huge roller coaster running through the whole level? Get on it using the quarter pipe with the shells and green arrows on it, (near the octopus,) then turn right and go up the large hill until you reach the top. Start skating down and jump off of the right side. Try to land in a grind on the rope going to the ferris wheel. This may take a few tries and a bit of luck. Ride this rope to the ferris wheel, then transfer to the wing nut. You barely have to touch it. 13. Break the Lanterns on the Island (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Completing challenge 12 Go to the broken ferris wheel, now laying sideways in the water. Grind on it going either way, then hop off into the bowl onto the island. From here, jump up out of the bowl and grind on the wooden rail. As you go along, you will destroy lanterns. Hit all six of them, and the challenge is complete. 14. Handplant Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Appears after: Talking the the photographer on the pier See the Yoohoo billboard near the photographer? Go up the ramp underneath it, then do a handplant on the billboard by pressing Up and Triangle. It's that easy. 15. Method Grab Photo (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to photographer on roof near roller coaster. Must have completed challenge 14. Use one of the seahorse quarter pipes on the ends of the building to get some speed, then go off of the small ramp, do a Method Grab (Left and Square), and land on the other side. If you have high enough Speed and Jump stats, this will be no problem. 16. Grind the Mime (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Hidden This is a hidden challenge, so it won't appear until after you've completed the trick. To do so, find the mime standing next to one of those test-your-strength things. (It's near the octopus ride.) Jump up and grind on the mime's head, and you'll complete the challenge. 17. Test of Strength (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Hidden This is a hidden challenge, so it won't appear until after you've completed the trick. Get on the highest point of the roller coaster, and look for a horizontal pole with a rope next to it. Swing on the pole and jump off to the right to grind the rope. Grind it long enough and you'll hit the bell on the test-your-strengh thing. Challenge completed! 18. 50,000 Point Trick - See Details (2 pts.) Difficulty: Appears after: Getting Boardwalk key in Airfield 19. Skitch the Coaster (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Hidden This is a hidden challenge, so it won't show up until after you do it. To skitch the coaster, just stand on the tracks near the loading platform and hold O. When the train comes by, you'll grab onto it automatically. 20. Lighthouse Rail Grind Transfer (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Boardwalk key in Airfield As you enter the lighthouse area, there is a billboard to your right, and one to your left. Use the quarter pipe underneath the left one to get on it, then grind to the right. Jump off to the right and grind on the lighthouse rail. 21. Grind Through the Gold Tooth (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Boardwalk key in Airfield Find the bridge with the gold tooth on it, and start skating toward the end of the bridge with the tooth on it. When you get near, use the bumps in the bridge to get on the rope to your right. Jump from this to the wooden "toothpick" sticking out of the skull's mouth, and you'll hit the tooth. 22. Grind the Broken Bridge (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Completing challenge 19 After you grind through the tooth, hop on one of the rope rails and grind it all the way down. If you can decently balance grinds, you won't have difficulty with this. 23. 650,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to clown on roller coaster loading platform This one isn't tough once you know where to go. Obviously, the best way to get 650k in a minute-thirty is a halfpipe and some Cess Slides. The problem is finding a halfpipe around the area. The best one is under the Chrissy billboard next to the pirate ship. If you can get there, just do a few tricks sets to rack up the points. 29. Get the Monkeys (3 pts.) Difficulty: Appears after: Talking to chef in the large tree Just getting to the chef is a challenge in itself. You'll have to get your special bar all the way up, then grind the left side of the first ramp as you enter the area. It's important to grind the side of the ramp, and not the rope railing. As you hit the ramp, jump and grind a branch, then try to slow yourself down as you reach the center of the tree, where the chef is standing. 30. Find the Movie Lot Key (3 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting Boardwalk key in Airfield This one's simple once you know where the key is. Near the giant tree with the chef inside, there is a large waterfall. If you look through the water, you can see the key there. Simply vault over the rope railing and you'll get it! (Thanks to Mark Bensley for the tip.) LEVEL FIVE - CANNERY ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |This level begins in the starting "hallway", opening up to a large outdoor | |area. To the left is the small harpoon boat and a building that holds the | |machinery room. On the far end is the lifeboat deck and a building that | |holds the frozen room. Only outdoor areas are available without the key. | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Getting 8 challenge points in Boardwalk | |Secret Character: Diver | |Secret Stat Booster: Fakie | |Key: Industrial | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- 1. Get 700,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. 90,000 Point Trick (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy This one's up to you. If you're good at grinds, grind, good at vert, vert, etc. After you complete challenge 7, there are some half pipes in the starting "hallway" that you can easily Cess Slide on for quick points. 3. Grind Transfer the Pier Ropes (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Coming out of the starting "hallway", turn left to find a rope on the edge of the dock. Grind this, transfer to the next one, and again to the one after that. 4. Grind Transfer to the Four Rails (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Grind, transfer, grind, transfer... 5. Break the 3 Lights (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate First, get up to the ledge below the three lights. Facing the wall, turn to your right, and go up the quarter pipe against the wall. Shoot to the right and you'll end up on another ledge. From here, you can easily get on the wire that has the three lights. The only challenge is to balance the long grind down the wire. 6. Grind Transfer the Lifeboat Rails (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough See the small wooden ramp near the lifeboat rails? Grind on the railing behind it, headed toward the ramp. Grind transfer onto the right edge of the ramp, then jump left to transfer onto the lifeboat rails. You can't simply go up the ramp, you have to grind it. You should have your special flashing going into the trick. Once you're up on the first lifeboat rail, transfer to the next one. 7. Grind Transfer the Pipes (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to scientist right outside of starting "hallway" Use the quarter pipe underneath the high pipe to reach it. Grind to the right, then transfer to the small pipe. If you're having trouble making the transfer, grind the high pipe to the left. You'll go up, then slide back down, gaining speed as you go. 8. Pipe Transfer Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to photographer near lifeboat rails This one took me many, many tries to do. There's no trick to it, just transfer from the lower right ramp to the lower left one, over the high center one. You WILL need a good angle, and you WILL need your special bar flashing. 9. 125,000 Point Run on Small Boat (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to thug on harpoon boat It sucks that you're stuck getting the points only on the boat, but it's not too hard to do. If you're good at grinding, the whole outline of the ship can be grinded in an infinite loop. If you're good at Cess Slides, head to the bowl at the back of the boat and do your thing there. 10. Grind the Harpoon (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to captain on harpoon boat After talking to the captain, find your way to the bowl in the back of the boat. (I suck at nautical terms, so I don't know what else to call that.) Get some speed up in the bowl, then shoot your skater up and forward to grind on the high rail near the harpoon. Try to get off the rail and onto solid ground without falling off the top deck, then jump up the the platform the harpoon is on. Jump up, grind it, and you're set. Note: You can't just grind a tiny part of the harpoon; you have to get the whole thing. 11. 200,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to captain outside of starting "hallway" I think you may have to have challenge 10 done for the captain to appear. Anyone know? Anyway, skate back into the "hallway" and find the halfpipes left by completing challenge 7. Do Cess Slides into manuals until you have the needed points. 12. Grind All of the Harpoon Line Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to captain on harpoon boat. Must have completed challenge 10. Get on the harpoon the same way you did for challenge 10, and ride the line all the way to the end. I did this once and it didn't count it, but then did it again and it counted. 13. Get 1,500,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 700,000 points Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 14. Get 3,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 1,500,000 points Just like challenge 13, you'll just get this over time. 15. Construct and Score 50,000 points (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Easy Appears after: Talking to computer in frozen room. Must have gotten the Cannery Key from Industrial. This one's a piece of cake. The key is this: Don't build anything. Just hit start right away and select "Do Challenge". Skate out of the room and get 50,000 points anywhere you want. (Thanks to MatrixMan01 and Lars for the info.) 16. Find the Industrial Junk Yard Key (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Hope you're ready for a _real_ challenge, because this is the hardest one you've faced yet. Above the deck from challenge 3 is a ledge. There are two ramps going up to it - take either one and ride to the end near the water, then turn around. Get some speed going, then use the small ramp to reach the metal ledge above. Grinding this will lead you to a piece of wood, and eventually a large metal beam. Unfortunately, the beam is blocked by a large chunk of machinery, so you must jump off to the left, grab the bar sticking out, swing on it with O, then jump off and to the right to grind again. You'll need to do this three times, going uphill, until you get to the final beam with the key on it. Good luck! 17. Return of the Peg Leg (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Hidden This is a hidden challenge, so it won't appear until after you've completed it. Near the edge of the water is a man standing next to a very large fish. Go up one of the quarter pipes near the fish and grind the length of the bar the fish is dangling from. There's only a very small part of the bar you can catch coming off of the pipes, so be sure to hit that. 18. Get 5,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: You get 3,000,000 points. Must have gotten the Cannery Key from Industrial. Just like challenge 14, you'll just get this over time. 19. 500,000 Point Trick (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Getting the Cannery Key from Industrial Use the halfpipes in the starting "hallway" (challenge 7 must be complete for these to appear) to link Cess Sliding tricks. It takes quite a bit, but if you do tricks while up in the air, the multiplier should go up pretty quickly. 20. Grind the Swordfish (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting the Cannery Key from Industrial Go to the halfpipe with all the swordfish dangling down through the middle of it. Use the halfpipe to get some height, then hop to the beam above you and grind to the right. This will curve, then you need to transfer to another beam to your right. You'll grind alongside the swordfish; jump over to it and grind it. 21. Grind the Control Panel (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting the Cannery Key from Industrial Why this one is worth two points and the swordfish is only worth one is beyond me. Simply get onto the beam from challenge 20, take the curve, then transfer to the control panel on the left. 22. 750,000 Point Timed Run (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to scientist in machinery room. Must have gotten the Cannery Key from Industrial. Find a halfpipe somewhere in the room, (there are a few good ones,) and do the good-ol'-Cess-slide-into-manual trick. Getting 750,000 points can be very difficult, even for a skilled player, but it's doable. 23. Grind Under the Choppers (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Getting the Cannery Key from Industrial In the machinery room, find the conveyor belt that goes into a large machine next to where another comes out. Transfer off of a quarter pipe to get onto the first belt, then hop on the machine. Watch to the right to get an idea of the choppers' timing, then start grinding on the second belt. Tip: It's best to start grinding right after you see the first one go down. 24. Choppers the Hard Way (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Completing challenge 23 This one doesn't take much skill, just a lot of luck. You should turn the corner and face the choppers just as they're coming up. Keep trying it over and over again until you get it. 25. Grind the Leaking Steam Pipes (3 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to scientist in machinery room. Must have gotten the Cannery Key from Industrial. This one's a snap, once you can figure out what they want you to do. There's a long, thin pipe running against the wall near the scientist. Look for steam coming out of part of it. Grind this, and 5 seconds will be added to your time. Follow the pipe along until you see another steam leak, then grind that. (There's a lot of turning around and getting a leak at the other end of the pipe.) A leak won't show up until you've grinded the one before it. If the leak is in a high place, get on the pipe in a low spot and just grind up toward it. SPECIAL TRICK: After grinding under the choppers in challenge 23, keep grinding up the conveyor belt. In the corner, you'll hit the floating head that teaches you Salerno's Grind Combo (Right, Down, Down, Triangle). BONUS STAT: In the fish room, grind the steampipes against the wall. As you're grinding up one, you'll see the fakie boost glowing blue. Keep grinding on the pipe, and you'll get it. LEVEL SIX - AIRFIELD ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Getting 8 challenge points in Cannery | |Secret Character: Bombshell | |Secret Stat Booster: Wallride | |Key: Boardwalk | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- 1. Get 500,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. 250,000 Point Trick, 5 Cess Slides (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy If you don't know how to do Cess Sliding, now's the time to learn. Go to the rectangluar bowl in the middle of the outdoor area, and go up one side, doing a few quick grabs. When you're coming down, hit R2 and Up, Down or Down, Up. You'll land in a manual, and go up the other side. Do more tricks, then land in a manual again. Repeat this back and forth until you have a 250,000 point trick. 3. Grind the Tethered Plane (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Get on the rope tying the plane down, and try to grind it all the way to the plane. This can be tough because the plane will jerk up and down and knock you off. When you hit the end, you have to jump and transfer to grind the plane. 4. Royale Grind the Tower Base (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Go into the indoor area with the long orange rope hanging in it. Find the tower base, as shown in the fly-by, then do a Royale Grind (Down, Square) all the way around. The challenge won't be completed until you jump off. 5. Handplant the 3 Back Corner Bars (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Head to the far corner of the rope room and find three green bars on the wall above a quarter pipe. Use the quarter pipe underneath them to jump up, then handplant with Up and Triangle. Hit all three and the challenge is complete. 6. Handplant the 3 Bars (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy As you enter the rope room, choose the door on the right. As you enter, the bars will be against the wall. Use the quarter pipe underneath them to jump up, then handplant with Up and Triangle. Hit all three and the challenge is complete. 7. Break the Bomber Turret (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough In the corner with the three back corner bars, there is a long halfpipe with a vent shaft on the wall above it. Use the pipe to get up on the vent, then grind to the right. Transfer right to grind on another vent, then follow that one as it curves. When you reach the end, transfer to the rope holding the bomber, then grind the bomber until you break the glass over the cockpit. 8. Get 1,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 500,000 points Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 9. Get 2,500,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 1,000,000 points Just like challenge 8, you'll just get this over time. 10. 125,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to radio near large rectangular bowl in center of the outside area Use the large bowl right next to you to do Cess Slides, and you'll get the required points in no time. 11. 250,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to radio near large bowl in rope room. Must have completed challenge 10. Use the large bowl right next to you to do Cess Slides, and you'll get the required points in no time. 12. Skitch From the Plane (2 pts.) Difficulty: Very Easy Appears after: Completing challenge 3 Stand in the middle of the runway with your back toward the X. Hold O. When the plane comes by, you'll automatically grab on to the rope it carries behind it. 13. Hot Flip Transfer Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to photographer in rope room Hit one of the ramps on an angle, so that your skater will land on the other one, on the other side. While you're in the air, do a Hot Flip by hitting Left, Left, Square. If you're having a hard time with this one, try just doing the transfer, then working in the trick as you get used to it. 14. T-Bone Gap Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to photographer in rope room. Must have completed challenge 13. Go up the quarterpipe near the photographer, under the three green bars. Grind the rail up top to the right to reach the halfpipe you need to get to. Get some speed on the pipe against the wall, then go off the other side and do a T-Bone (UpRight, Square). You must land on the pipe on the other side for the challenge to be complete. 15. Find the Boardwalk Key (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough In the corner with the three back corner bars, there is a long halfpipe with a vent shaft on the wall above it. Use the pipe to get up on the vent, then grind to the left. Transfer to the left to grind a rope. When that ends, transfer to the right, follow that to the end, then jump down to a lower rope. Transfer again, grind around the corner, then transfer to the left to get the key. 16. Cruise Missile Enema (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Hidden After getting the key in challenge 15, you'll end up on a platform that has holes like the moon. Wallride the large shuttle there to unlock this hidden challenge. (Thanks to Josh C. for the info!) 17. Place and Trick on 6 Items (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to strange green glow in 'B' Room This challenge and the next two take place in the 'B' Room, called that because the letter 'B' is over the door you take to reach this area from the main outside area. This isn't too tough if you can arrange the pieces nicely. You have two large quarter pipes, one small double-sided quarter pipe, a short curved wall, a 180 degree curved rail, and a horizontal bar. Once you have them set up, hit Start and choose "Do Challenge". If you need to rearrange the pieces again, just talk to the green glow again. I set mine up with the pipes all in a row, followed by the wall and the rail, then the bar. That way, I could grind all of the pipes, transfer to the wall, transfer to the rail, and end by swinging around the bar. 18. Place and Trick on 8 Items (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to strange green glow in 'B' Room. Must have completed challenge 17. This one's a bit tougher, even though there are only two more pieces than the last challenge. The extra pieces are another small double-sided quarter pipe and a quarter pipe that doesn't flash at the top like the rest of the pieces. I started off of that piece, grinded one of the large quarter pipes, jumped to the next, landed on the rail, grinded both double-sided pipes, hit the short wall, and ended by swinging around the horizontal bar. That's probably not the easiest way to do this, but it worked for me. 19. Place and Trick on 10 Items (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to strange green glow in 'B' Room. Must have completed challenge 18. New pieces on this one are a rail that twists 360 degrees and another short wall curve. I off the unflashing one like last time, landed on a large quarter pipe in a grind, transfered to the other one, caught the 360 rail midway to turn 180 degrees, grind transfered to the first double-sided pipe, then the next, transfered to the 180 rail, grinded the wall curves (which I had pushed together), and swung on the horizontal bar. If you have no idea what all that means, don't worry - just mess around with the pieces until you find something that works for you. SPECIAL TRICK: As you're grinding the long vent in challenge 7, you'll pick up the floating head that gives you this. The trick is the Corkscrew 1260 (Left, Up, Right, Square). LEVEL SEVEN - MUSEUM ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- |Unlock Level By: Getting 8 challenge points in Airfield | |Secret Character: Mummy | |Secret Stat Booster: Spin | |Key: Civic Center | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- 1. Get 100,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Just do the other challenges and you'll get this as you go along. 2. 200,000 Point Trick (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy There's nice halfpipe in front of you as you start the level. Use it to combine tricks and Cess Slides. 3. Manual the Display Case (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Go to the second floor of the triceratops room. Find the display case, line your skater up, jump on top of the case, and do a manual by pressing Up, Down or Down, Up as you land. 4. Display to Rail to Triceratops Grind (2 pts.) Difficulty: Easy Grind the display case from challenge 3 heading toward the triceratops. Transfer to the rail on your right, then jump to your right again to grind the triceratops. If you keep hitting the column near the rail and bouncing off, you're not jumping soon enough. 5. 125,000 Point Timed Run (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to info station in triceratops room The quarter pipe under the mammoth display and the one under the brontosaurus skeleton make for some sweet Cess Sliding. Get to work! 6. Grind the Mammoth Display (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to info station near mammoth display in triceratops room Use the quarter pipe underneath the mammoth glass to get up on top, then grind around the top rim. You'll need to go around three times, and the game won't tell you you've accomplished the mission until you jump off and finish the trick. The key to this one is just knowing how to balance a grind long enough. 7. Grind the Bronto Skeleton Spine (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to info station on 2nd floor of triceratops room Next to the info station is a broken rail that bends out. Grind off the end of this, and you should be able to jump onto the brontosaurus' spine. It's not an easy jump, but it can be done without too much trouble. 8. Spin Around the Bronto Spine (1 pt.) Difficulty: Very Easy Appears after: Talking to info station on 2nd floor of triceratops room. Must have completed challenge 7. This one's very simple. Just go up the side of the little hill the bronto is on and press Up so you'll shoot forward. Hold O and you'll spin around the brontosaurus spine. 9. Grind the Upturned Bronto Ribs (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to info station on 2nd floor of triceratops room. Must have completed challenge 8. Go up the hill under the bronto on one side of the rib, and angle your skater so that you'll land on the tip of the rib. When you hit the tip, grind all the way down and up the other one. You must grind from tip to tip, or you'll get a message saying you didn't grind enough. 10. Grind Over the Pterodactyl (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to info station on 3rd floor of triceratops room The hardest part of this challenge is getting on the cable you need to grind. Get on the rafters near the pterodactyl, and find a way onto the cable. There are a few spots where the rafter is high and the cable is low, so use one of those. Once you're on, no transfers are needed - you'll go in a big loop and hit the control box somewhere along the way. 11. Fast Slide T. Rex Back Photo (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: Talking to photographer in lobby Get on the second floor balcony on the right side in the lobby. Use the small ramp at the end of the balcony to jump from, and land on the T-Rex's tail doing a Fast Slide (UpLeft, Triangle). 12. Get 4,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Easy Appears after: You get 1,000,000 points Just like challenge 1, you'll just get this over time. 13. Get 6,000,000 Points (1 pt.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: You get 4,000,000 points Just like challenge 12, you'll just get this over time. 14. Find the Civic Train Station Key (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Remember the boxes you grinded for challenge 15? Get on those again and head left. Transfer to the vent again, and follow that until the end, where you'll jump onto another vent and head left. At the VERY end of this is a light. Transfer onto it and head right. Jump to another light, then onto a platform. Stop on the platform and head left around the corner. Grind a light near the end of the platform, then transfer to the one with the key. Whew! 15. Photo Grind the Last Light (3 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Talking to photographer in storage room. Must have completed challenge 11. In the storage room, find the large head made out of rock. Turn your skater so that he/she is facing away from the statue and look across to the other side of the room and to the left a bit. See that quarter pipe? Go off that and grind the edge of the boxes above to the left. Transfer to the vent to the left, and follow that until you see a light. Grind the light, then jump to transfer to another, then again to the third. 16. 400,000 Point Timed Run (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to thug in storage room. Must have completed challenge 5. This one isn't too tough, just use the big bowl in the middle of the room for some Cess Slidin'. 17. You've Done It Now (2 pts.) Difficulty: Tough Appears after: Hidden This is a hidden challenge, so it won't appear until after you've done it. In the storage room, find the large head made out of rock. Turn your skater so that he/she is facing away from the statue and look across to the other side of the room and to the left a bit. See that quarter pipe? Go off that angling to the right and you'll land on a high halfpipe. Once you're up there, go up the pipe closest to the wall and grind the very small rail there. 19. 150,000 Point Trick - See Details (1 pt.) Difficulty: Appears after: Getting Museum key in Movie Lot 20. Grind Both Sides of the Viking Ship(2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Getting Museum key in Movie Lot As you're facing the viking ship from inside the bowl, turn to your right. There will be a cable hanging above the edge of the bowl. Go up the side of the bowl to reach the cable, then grind it toward the viking ship. Jump off onto another cable leading straight to the ship. Grind all the shields off of the ship and you're set! Tip from beatnik: On the 2nd or 3rd floor on each side is the cable ends for the Viking ship. (The tips are painted yellow?) They hang into the balcony over the rail. Just skate up to them and grind all the way down to the ship. I fell off at this point but the game said something along the lines of you've got one side now do the other. So I went back up stairs and grinded down the other cable and it was done. Maybe longer, but very easy. 21. Pole Transfer 5 Viking Oars (2 pts.) Difficulty: Appears after: Getting Museum key in Movie Lot 22. 1,000,000 Point Timed Run (3 pts.) Difficulty: Very Tough Appears after: Talking to info station in viking ship room. Must have Museum key from Movie Lot. After talking to the info station, turn around and go through the double doors into the mummy hall. After the hall, you'll emerge near the wooly mammoth. Use the halfpipe formed by the mammoth's hill and the metal quarter pipe across from it to do a lot of Cess Sliding (and I mean a LOT). Good luck! 23. Pole Transfer to Tank Barrel (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to robber in viking ship room. Must have Museum key from Movie Lot. This guy's a little hidden, so if you're having trouble finding him, just skate around the outer wall of the first floor viking ship room until you see him. To do the challenge, go to the second floor of the viking ship room and find the part the fly-by shows. Grind the rail going towards the horizontal pole, then jump off to the right to swing around it. Jump off to the right again to grind the tank barrel. It really helps to have your special bar flashing on this one, because it's very tough to reach the tank otherwise. 24. Rocket Wonder Grind Photo (2 pts.) Difficulty: Moderate Appears after: Talking to photographer on fourth floor of viking ship room. Must have Museum key from Movie Lot. They really should have given us a fly-by on this one, but they didn't, so I'll explain. Near the photographer, if you look over the railing, you'll see a space shuttle hanging in the air. You have to do a Wonder Grind on the tail of that. To do so, go down to the third floor. Face the rail so that your skater is lined up perfectly with the rocket, looking straight at the nose. Skate toward the rail and vault over it. If you look like you're going to land on it, press Right, Up, Triangle to do a Wonder Grind. BONUS STAT: After completing challenge 23, return to where the robber was. The safe door will now be open. Jump through it, and you'll receive the bonus spin stat. SPECIAL TRICK: On the fourth floor of the triceratops room, you can see Taig Khris's head floating around against a wall. It looks too high up to reach, but if you wallride, then jump, it can be done. The trick is the Double Back Cross Grab (Down, Down, Right, Square). (Thanks to pub_man_pete for the wallride tip.) ----------------------------------------------------------------- V. FAQs ----------------------------------------------------------------- Well, nobody's really asked me these questions. But they could! 1. Where are the cheats? I think cheats have their place in a lot of games, but this isn't one of 'em. If you really want them, you can find them, believe me. I just think they take away from the game experience, and therefore will not include them in this FAQ. ` 2. What system did you write this FAQ for? I'm playing Aggressive Inline for Playstation 2. I don't have the GameCube or XBox versions, so I don't know what differences (if any) there are. When I learn more, I'll be sure to let you guys know of any. 3. Which skater are you using? Chrissy, of course. =) Actually, she's the character I use for fun. I'm using Taig Khris for the walkthrough. 4. Have you beaten Aggressive Inline? Nope, but I'm getting close. I'm working on it, and updating the FAQ as I progress. 5. Can I use your info for my FAQ? I can't stop you from rephrasing my info into your own words, but I certainly won't allow you to copy and paste my info into your own FAQ. So, no. 6. Do you use other FAQ's info for yours? No, no, no. I believe in 100% originality, and will never copy another FAQ's strategies, even to reword it. That's not fair to the original author. I do, however, include reader suggestions and strategies in my FAQ. 7. I know something you don't know, na na na na na na! Hey, that's not a question. Anyway, please send it to me! I'll include it, and credit you for it. I could use all the help I can get on this. My email is ShadowG64@aol.com. 8. Hey, my skater doesn't naturally do a 180 when I go up and down on a quarter pipe! This is one of the game's glitches, as far as I can tell. Just do a flip, like Up, Up, Square, and it should right itself again. 9. Why is the camera too far to the left or right sometimes? Sometimes the camera swings to the right, causing your skater to be skating toward the side of the screen more. It can be very annoying, because you can't really see where you're going. To fix this, simply move the right analog stick in any direction. The camera will swing, and then it should right itself. 10. There is no question 10. Sorry. Go home. ----------------------------------------------------------------- VI.
