WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 Written by Dalton "horror_spooky" Cooper Copyright 2010 Dalton Cooper After seeing a lot of questions about achievements on the GameFAQs message board for this game and having some trouble unlocking some myself, I decided I would write up my second achievement guide. Hopefully this will help players unlock some of the more difficult achievements the game has to offer, and I also hope that it will be easier for players to find the answers they are looking for regarding achievements. This guide is compatible with the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Introduction and Things to Remember - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As this is only my second guide, I am still fairly inexperienced at writing these. Any suggestions, constructive criticism, suggestions, corrections, and etc. are welcome. I will rate each achievement by their difficulty, with * being the easiest and ***** being the most difficult. I consider time-consuming achievements to be difficult ones. At several points in this guide, I will suggest a fluctuating of difficulty. In order to alter the difficulty setting of the game, follow these steps (which can be found in the instruction manual): 1. Go to "My WWE" 2. Options 3. Gameplay Options 4. Match Options 5. In-Game Options 6. Change difficulty. Press A to save changes (DO NOT HIT B). For achievements involving created wrestlers, be sure to assign them to either the Raw or SmackDown brand, and not WCW or a created brand. Use Ctrl+F to find achievements quickly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A. 5-Second Pose (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Complete Christian's Road to WrestleMania story on any difficulty. Difficulty: * Strategy: This is easy. Just play through Christian's Road to WrestleMania story. It may be a little time-consuming, but that's about it. If you are seriously having difficulty with this, lower the difficulty. Keep in mind, you don't even have to win every match to unlock this achievement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - B. A Student Of The Game (10G) / Magna Cum Laude (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Complete 50% of the tips in the Practice Arena / Complete all of the tips in the Practice Arena Difficulty: ***** Strategy: I included both of these achievements in one section as it would be pointless to post the checklist twice. The first thing you need to do is go to the Practice Arena Options. Switch the AI difficulty to normal so they will actually pursue you and allow you to counter the moves in order to complete some of the moves on the checklist. All you need to do is complete everything on the checklist. It's somewhat time consuming, and getting down the right timing for counters is a pain in the neck sometimes, but completing the entire checklist is worth a whopping 50 gamerscore. The game will tell you exactly what to do for each action in a nifty in-game checklist that will also keep track of your progress towards this achievement. The reason I gave it the highest level of difficulty is because it is indeed one of the more time-consuming achievements on the list. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - C. A Successful Cash In (20G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Cash in Money In The Bank in WWE Universe and win using a created character (Offline). Difficulty: **** Strategy: Create a superstar with a 100 overall rating, or download a superstar off of Community Creations using Xbox Live (or PSN, if you are a PlayStation 3 user). Now, there's a couple of ways to do this. You could keep playing through the years in WWE Universe Mode, keeping your character high on the rankings but not obtaining belts or becoming #1 contender, and then cross your fingers that the computer places you in the Money in the Bank match at WrestleMania XXVI. If you win the match, you will unlock the achievement for winning a MitB match if you haven't done so already. Or you could just simulate to WrestleMania XXVI repeatedly, and eventually, your created superstar will wind up in the match. Control your wrestler and win the match, or take the risky route and simulate again and hope he wins (assuming you already have the achievement for winning a Money in the Bank match and don't want to do it again). Now just wait for the WWE Universe to create a match with a current champion on any of the shows. The champion doesn't have to be defending their titles for you to cash in the briefcase. Simply select the match, and the game will give the option to cash in and face the champion for the title. If you win, you will unlock the achievement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - D. Backstage Fisticuffs (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: During a backstage brawl, string 3 environmental grapple combos in succession (Offline). Difficulty: * Strategy: Start a backstage brawl match. Choose Locker Room A. Irish Whip (B) your opponent repeatedly into the TV that's sitting against the wall three times. Achievement unlocked. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - E. Button Mash Expert (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win a collar and elbow mini-game (Offline). Difficulty: ** Strategy: Two stars for the difficulty because this is hard to force happen. My advice is to just keep playing one-on-one matches with the difficulty set at Hard or Legend. Keep grappling your opponent, focusing mainly on chain grapples as it seems to occur the most if you do this. After a while, you and your opponent will tie-up. The game will prompt you to mash on the A button. Do so, win the mini-game, and you will unlock an achievement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - F. Caught Slipping (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win a match in which you successfully use a leverage pin (Offline). Difficulty: *** Strategy: I had a few problems with this. To earn this achievement, you need to use a wrestler that has the leverage pin ability. I know Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels have this ability for sure, and you could always just make your own superstar and give them this ability. When an opponent performs a grapple/pin combo, which is when the game tells you to press B in the middle of a move to pin after the move is completed, there is sometimes something special about the kick-out meter, if you have the leverage pin ability. What will happen is that a yellow bar will appear on the kick-out meter. Instead of holding a button and stopping it in the blue shaded area like you would usually do to kick out, button mash to the yellow area. This will cause you to reverse the pin with another pinning combination. Now, you have to win the match as well in order to unlock the achievement. So be sure to beat the hell out of the other guy for a little while before letting him beat up on you to make him eventually use the pin combo. I highly recommend wrestling Rey Mysterio or Shawn Michaels for this, as they tend to do grapple/ pins a lot. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - G. Chairs Upside Your Head (20G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Destroy 50 chairs (Offline). Difficulty: ** Strategy: Just play a bunch of Extreme Rules matches. In these matches, go to the ring apron and press A to pull out a weapon. Choose one of the chairs, and then grapple your opponent from the front. This will perform a move where the chair is broken immediately. Go back to the apron, pull out the other chair, and use it again. Keep repeating this process until the achievement unlocks. Keep in mind that the pieces of a chair have to disappear before you can pull another chair out from under the ring. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - H. Champion of Champions (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Using a created character, hold either the WWE or World Heavyweight title (Offline). Difficulty: *** Strategy: You could keep playing through the ranks, and earn a title shot. You could win a Royal Rumble and get a world title shot at WrestleMania. You could simulate until your created wrestler wins a world title and then defend the title at the next pay-per-view to unlock the achievement. Or if you want to do this the fast way, this is how: In WWE Universe Mode, go down to "My WWE" and click on "Superstars". Scroll down until you find your created superstar. Simply assign them one of the world titles and save the settings. Simulate to the next pay-per-view, and defend the title as your created wrestler. Kablamo. Achievement unlocked. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I. Check For Splinters (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Descriptoin: Put an opponent through a table using a corner top rop grapple move. (Offline) Difficulty: * Strategy: Set up a table somewhat close to a corner. Irish Whip your opponent into the corner. Flick the right analog stick up to place them on the top ropes. Then grapple them again to perform a top rope grapple move. If you miss the table, just keep trying. Simple. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - J. Creative With The Moves (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Create a front, top rope and corner finishing move in Create A Finisher. Difficulty: * Strategy: Go to the Create Modes, and then Create A Finisher. Create and save a finisher for the three categories. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - K. For Whom the Bell Tolls (20G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Pin or submit Undertaker in the WrestleMania arena on Legend difficulty (Offline). Difficulty: *** Strategy: Switch the difficulty to Legend difficulty. You have to be semi-good at the game in order to do this. Start a one-on-one match and choose the WrestleMania XXVI arena for the venue. Then just beat Undertaker. My advice is to use running grapples a lot as the AI doesn't seem to counter them as much. Pratice using RT to grapple moves if you are having difficulty. Choose a superstar you are comfortable with, as well. If you are feeling like getting two achievements in one-go, play through the Vs. Undertaker storyline for Road to WrestleMania, with the difficulty set on Legend, and beat him at the end. It will be more difficult this way, though. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - L. Intercontinental Champ (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win the Intercontinental Championship in WWE Universe using a created character (Offline). Man of 1004 Holds (100G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Perform a total of 1004 signature and finishing moves in any mode of play (Offline) Difficulty: ***** Strategy: Pick a WWE Superstar. Do not choose a created wrestler. For purposes of writing this guide, I unlocked this achievement using two separate profiles. The first time, I was able to unlock it with a created wrestler. It would not unlock the second time, but did with a WWE superstar. So, just to be on the safe side, choose a pre-made WWE Superstar. Anyone of your choosing. I would choose someone from the Road to WrestleMania storylines as you've probably already performed some of these moves with them. This achievement is taken from the epic Chris Jericho/Dean Malenko feud from WCW. Anyways, do just as the achievement says. You don't have to perform all of the finishers/signatures in one match, but you do have to do it with one superstar. It will take a long time and become very boring. Have fun! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - N. Mr. Money in the Bank (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win the Money In The Bnak Match in WWE Universe using a created character (Offline). Difficulty: **** Strategy: While you could do this at WrestleMania XXVI in WWE Universe (see A Successful Cash In for more info), you could also just play a 6-man ladder match. Win it, and the achievement is yours. Thanks to Matt O. for the following tip!: The first time I tried this, it was a long match and I lost because I was involved. However, the next time all I did was stay out of the ring, grab a weapon, and wait for a superstar to come after me. I also taunted to bring the meter up so I could pull off a signature maneuver and finisher quickly. If they did come out, I just attacked them with the weapon I had (and my signature and finisher if I could). Otherwise, I waited for the superstars to take out each other, and when there was one left, I attacked him, climbed the ladder, and won. Also make sure you have the ability to escape the ring quickly, in case a superstar gets up, and pushed you off the ladder. That way you don't take anymore damage than necessary. Don't fight other superstars if you can help it. And if there's a battle atop the ladder, and no one can stop it, push them off. It might be a long match but at least I won easily. I hope this helps. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - O. No More Mystery, Yo (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Complete Rey Mysterio's Road to WrestleMania story on any difficulty. Difficulty: * Strategy: Just play through Rey's Road to WrestleMania. Easy as pie. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - P. One Step Closer To The Gold (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Become Number 1 contender for any title in WWE Universe using a Created Superstar Difficulty: *** Strategy: Fighting your way to the #1 Contender spot doesn't unlock the achievement. You have to win a #1 Contender's Match that the computer in WWE Universe sets up for you. You could simulate through all of the weeks until your created wrestler is placed in a #1 Contender's Match. These generally occur on Raw or SmackDown. Win the match and you unlock the achievement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q. Original Brand Logo (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Create an original Brand Logo using Paint Tool. Difficulty: * Strategy: Go to the Create Modes. Go to Create a WWE Superstar. Then go to Paint Tool. Draw something or save a pre-made logo. It should unlock. If it doesn't, go to My WWE in WWE Universe and manage a Superstar. Change their brand to the new logo that you've created. If it still doesn't unlock, then edit your created superstar and change their brand to the new brand logo. It should unlock after one of these three. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - R. Pinning's Not The Only Way (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win a match in which you successfully use a submission. (Offline) Difficulty: * Strategy: Spam struggle submissions (clicking the right analog stick down) in a match until your opponent taps out. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - S. Please Don't Try This At Home (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Push an opponent off a ladder, so they fall out of the ring and through a table (Offline) Difficulty: ***** Strategy: Create a one-on-one TLC match, against an AI-controlled superstar. It will not work if you use two controllers, unfortunately. Anyway, set up tables at ringside, on the left side. Stack the tables on top of each other, and try to get four tables out there. Next, set up a ladder next to the ropes, and in a position so that if it were tipped, your opponent would fall through the tables. It's easy to trick the AI into climbing up the ladder, even though it's not in the proper place to pull down the briefcase. Climb the ladder yourself, and wait for your opponent to start climbing. When they get about a quarter of the way up the ladder, jump off quickly and head to the side of the ladder. Right when they reach the point where the game would ask you to pull down a briefcase or let you strike an opponent on the other side of the ladder, press the B button. You will then tip the ladder over, hopefully sending your opponent over the ropes, to the outside, and crashing through some wood. Trial and error is really key here if you're having trouble. Thanks to Ed B. for the following tip!: "For the 'please don't try this at home' award you can also use a top of the ladder finisher. I was having trouble getting my guy off the ladder fast enough and then around the side of the ladder to push it over before my opponent kept jumping off first. Frustrated, I already had the tables stacked as you had, had the ladder nearby inside the ring, and then performed a top of the ladder finisher (which for my guy it was a suplex). For that move you want your wrestler's back facing the tables so that you pick up your opponent up over the ladder and throw him out of the ring on top of a table. Even though I did it by mistake, it gave me the accomplishment award." Thanks to Mougatu for the following tip!: "Once you have tables set up outside, climb ladder. Once AI is climbing up wait for him to get to top so you can hit him and once you slam his face on ladder he will look like he is out, press B to jump down and push ladder down. I find if you try to jump off when he's climbing it's too difficult. But if you slam his head at the top you have so much more time to push the ladder. Hope it's useful enough." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - T. Power Of The Punch (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win a match in which you successfully KO an opponent using a strong strike. Difficulty: ** Strategy: Create a backstage brawl. Spam strong strikes, which is where you hold the X button. It may take a while, but eventually you will KO your opponent. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - U. Randy's Fired (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Complete John Cena's Road to WrestleMania story on any difficulty. Runaway Champ (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Complete Chris Jericho's Road to WrestleMania story on any difficulty. Sign Of The Times (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Create an original crowd sign using the Paint Tool. Difficulty: ** Strategy: Once again, create an original image in Paint Tool or save a pre-made image. Place the image as a crowd sign for a created superstar during the editing process, and the achievement is yours. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - X. Streak Breaker (50G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Complete the Vs. Undertaker Road to WrestleMania story on any difficulty. Difficulty: * Strategy: Beat the Vs. Undertaker RtWM. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Y. Talk About Resilient (20G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Kick out of The Undertaker's Tombstone Piledriver finisher on Legend difficulty (Offline). Difficulty: **** Strategy: Make sure the difficulty is set to Legend. Allow The Undertaker to beat the hell out of you. Eventually, he will have his Signature move, which will either be Chokeslam or Old School. He will perform the move, and then get his finisher. This achievement can be a pain in the ass for a couple of reasons. For one, Undertaker will sometimes use Last Ride instead of the Tombstone Piledriver as his finishing move. For two, there are rope breaks occasionally. To counteract the latter, make the match an Extreme Rules Match. In order to kick out of the move, you need to hold a button and release it in the designated blue shaded area on the kick-out meter. It's not too hard, especially if Undertaker didn't do too much damage before hitting the Tombstone. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Z. Thank You Shawn (20G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Defeat Shawn Michaels in the WrestleMania arena on Legend difficulty as Undertaker (Offline). Difficulty: *** Strategy: Set the difficulty to Legend. Choose The Undertaker, your opponent to be Shawn Michaels, and the WrestleMania XXVI arena for the venue. Beat HBK. Running grapples aren't countered as much by the AI, so keep that in mind. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AA. That'll Shorten Your Career (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: During a Hell in a Cell match, perform a wall destroying finisher (Offline). Difficulty: ** Strategy: Build up your signature move in the ring by beating up your opponent. After you have your signature move, either throw your opponent to the outside or lure them out there. On the outside, perform your signature move on the floor. Flick up on the right analog stick to pick your opponent up. Throw them into the cage. Make sure you are close to them and try to stand in front of them as they back away from the impact of the steel hitting their face. Tap Y this entire time, and if done correctly, your superstar will then send the opponent flying through the cage wall with a finishing maneuver. Smashingly done! Baha. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AB. The Excellence of Execution (10G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Defeat 50 opponents using pin combination grapple moves (Offline). Difficulty: **** Strategy: Choose a wrestler that can do these. The Undertaker's Tombstone Piledriver finishing move allows an opportunity to do a pin/grapple, which is what this achievement is asking of you. A pin/grapple is where the game tells you to press B to pin an opponent in the middle of the move. All you need to do is do this 50 times. It's a bit on the time-consuming (I've used that phrase a hell of a lot in this guide, huh?) side, but relatively easy. There are other wrestlers that can do these moves as well, so just find someone you're comfortable with and spam that particular move. I preferred using Christian. What I did was throw my opponents into the ropes, and then flick the right analog stick to the left to perform a snap slam, and then pressed B to pin my opponent immediately afterwards. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AC. The Last Man Standing (100G) / Win Or Lose, At Least You Tried (20G) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Description: Win a Royal Rumble match on Xbox LIVE. /Play a Royal Rumble match on Xbox Live to its conclusion Difficulty: ***** Strategy: This is the hardest achievement to get. The online for this game is so damn laggy that it's ridiculous. It's actually painful to play this mode. It's also very difficult to find a match. If you do manage to find one and want to earn this achievement the legitimate way, then my advice to avoid getting eliminated is to hang out on the top ropes as long as possible. It's really about luck. If you lose but stay with a Rumble match to its conclusion, you will unlock a nifty 20 gamerscore achievement. The much easier way to get this achievement is to find someone that also has the game and get them to do you a favor. Create a private player session for the Royal Rumble on Xbox Live and invite the person. Have them let you eliminate them once, and then they can leave the game. You can still play the Rumble to its conclusion, and still earn the achievement. The AI is more difficult, however, on Xbox Live, and they will counter a lot and it might get kind of scary. This will require luck, good button mashing skills, and a lot of patience. But 100G is a whole lot of gamerscore. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - AD.
