guys out of the blue i felt this urgent need to play KOTOR 1 and so i searched high and low for it and finally found it only to discover to my horror that it won't run on my Win7 64-Bit. i tried running it with Trouble Shooting Compatability and Admin mode. it just won't run because its meant to run only on XP. now my raptor HDD has 2 partitions. can i install XP SP2 on the other partition and play the game with Win7 64-Bit already installed on my primary partition? i really need to play this game because its been a while i also want to play KOTOR 2. please advise. thank you.

You can install Win XP into that partition. Just make sure that the OS is 32-bit.

If I am not wrong, KotOR 1 and 2 is only compatible with 32-bit OS.

First of all what is your gfx card?

One trick I heard solves the problem but not for everyone is to apply the no-cd fix.

unfortunately u r right..i think. my system is 64-Bit. and Shianova...my card is GTX480. i haven't been able to run both of them so far..crashes to the desktop. tried running it as admin and tried running it with Troubleshoot Compatability mode too..no luck.

I read somewhere that you have to download really old drivers for your GFX card, a lot of people have no problem running this game on Win 7 and then a lot of people do.

GTX480 being a fairly recent card..i don't think older driver's exist at all and if these 2 games run only on 32-Bit systems then my entire effort will be one of futility because i did away with my 32-Bit system
