I can't get the trainer to work at all. I press F1 in game and I hear "trainer activated", and the on off responses, but nothing happens. The game doesn't crash at all, the trainer just has no effect.

Same problem here. Before patch trainer worked, but after todays patch nothing happens. I did delete .dat file and updated trainer. Tried few times. Still no go...

Yep yep.

Just bought a subscription here, and now one of the games on my steam does not have a working trainer.

Any ETA on an update? I am excited to kick some ass a bit more. :3

haven't played this one for a while.

anyway, i just did a testrun with the current version of the trainer and together with my instructions from earlier in this thread, the trainer still works fine (at least trainer options 1 and 2 do), so there's still no need for an update.

I was having problems with the trainer working as well, followed you directions, works fine now.

Just to recap your instructions:

delete CHLFD2.dat
launch trainer
launch game
start offline campaign
kill a few zombies
press F1
kill a few more zombies
press ALT+TAB to switch out of the game
press OK to update the trainer
wait
press OK to quit the trainer
switch back into the game
quit the game
restart the trainer
restart the game
press F1 in the menu
start offline campaign
press desired option keys

I just tried all the solutions I found on the forum, but there is none that works.
I intend to activate the trainer and functions too, but nothing happens, it does not work at all.
I'm sorry to ask for help, usually it works very well.

Latest trainer, L4D-2 - Instant kill kills you as well as zombies when hit my acid. Other than that.

Zombie Freeze option also doesn't work when tried but will try again and see.
