Making all Airlines Available

Note: This cheat requires that you have the Airport Tycoon 3 patch installed. Also be sure to back up your files before making any changes.

To get into the game data, go to My Computer, C: Drive, Program Files, Global Star Software, Airport Tycoon 3, data, db. Better airlines can be put into the game quickly by using wordpad to get into the "airlines" file by right clicking on the file, choosing "open with", and selecting WordPad. If you change the value for the "QUALITY" section (which ranges from 1 to 5) to 1, all airlines will be available as soon as you start your airport (this number can be found right before the name of the airline's HUB city). Having these airlines will make larger planes come to your airport. Then save your changes.

Make All Buildings Available

Note: This cheat requires that you have the Airport Tycoon 3 patch installed. Also be sure to back up your files before making any changes.

By going into the game data following the same steps as listed for making everything free (go to My Computer, Program Files, Global Star Software, Airport Tycoon 3, data, db, right click on the "buildings" file, and select "open with" and then WordPad), you can change the date when each building will become available. The date for when each building will be made available is listed right after the word "destroy" in each line and includes the month and year for when it will be made available. For example, if you find a building with a date listed as "3/1980", you can change it to "1/1970" to make it available on January 1, 1970 (the beginning of the game). Then save your changes.

Make All Planes Available

Note: This cheat requires that you have the Airport Tycoon 3 patch installed. Also be sure to back up your files before making any changes.

You can make all planes available by changing the date for when each plane is made available. Go to My Computer, C: Drive, Program Files, Global Star Software, Airport Tycoon 3, data, db, right click on the "planes" file, move down to open with, and choose WordPad. Find the date for when each plane will be available and change the date so that it will be available at the start of the game (the date is listed right after the abbreviated name for each plane and shows the month and year). For example, change a date of 3/1996 to 1/1970. Then save your changes.

Make Everything Free

Note: This cheat requires you to have the Airport Tycoon 3 patch installed. Also be sure to back up your files before making any changes.

You can change the prices and/or monthly costs of any buildings in the game by changing the game data. If you have the patch installed, you can go to the Global Star Software folder under Program Files on your computer, click the Airport Tycoon 3 folder, go into the folder named "data", and go into the "db" folder to see where all of the game information is located. Right click on the file named "buildings" that looks like an Excel file. Then move down to "open with" and select Word Pad (you may need to click on Choose Program). The top line of the page shows how the data is organized. Find the value that comes before the word "BUILD" in each line. This number (usually in the thousands or millions) is the cost for the building named in that line. You can change the cost to zero or whatever you want. You can also eliminate monthly costs by changing the value that comes right after the word "MONTHLYCOST" to zero. Then save your changes.
