So, Windows installed some updates of .NET Framework or whatever, so I go to scan the registry with CCleaner and I find this

But this sure looks like if I fix these errors, something bad will happen, can someone tell me if it's safe? Thanks.

I would advise talking to CCleaner's customer support or Windows' customer support.

Create a System Restore point if you're in doubt first then allow it to clean it up. Then restart your computer. If nothing is broken, then CCleaner did it's job without damage. If it went horribly wrong, just use Safe Mode to revert back to the restore point.

Usually CCleaner's registry cleaner is not really aggressive and can clean up the registry without any damage. You won't really notice any difference in performance unless you defragment the registry which is something CCleaner does not do. Defragmention of the registry comes in tools that usually cost money though.

What I am using is Advanced Uninstaller 10. It has a registry clean-up function which is quite effective and safe for my system. So I advice you to use that instead of CCleaner.

However, I give you the same advice Neo gave you, but to add to it, I would recommend you backup the whole registry.

I do use Tune Up 2010 which has the Defragment Registry function, but it doesn't detect erros CCleaner does and vice-versa.

Cleaned it, rebooted the PC, so far so good.

But I don't know how to run that Visual Studio 8 program, so I don't know if it did affect something.

I've been using CCleaner for quite awhile now and I haven't noticed any issues with my computer yet. I just always make sure to back up changes to my registry before I fix the issues it finds.

You still need a 64 bit OS. All that RAM gone to waste :P
