so i've reached this part after you get back from the first time you go to the past. everything is fine until i get to this area where you have to use a crate to get up into a room with a partly closed garage door. nothing happens when i get up there. i can't open the door or find a switch or something to activate it. i've done all this without the trainer activated and still nothing.

Crates and slightly open garage-style doors usually means you need to collapse the crate (age it) then move the crate under the slightly open door, then expand the crate (age it again) and it will open the door enough to crouch under.
