why do you want to skip recruit?
you need to play twice to get the whole story anyway.

even so I want to play as a veteran and not as a recruit...
there is no point in locking background...
I play my games once then go MP I rarely play games SP twice
so I want to play as veteran or my enthusiasm to play will be lost.

so any one have a save with veteran unlocked or a way to unlock it without playing the game???

there is a point. veteran and recruit aren't simply backgrounds. they both give different additional dialogue options during tutorial, but also change a few of the dialogues throughout the whole game.
recruit is the harder difficulty, as you start with zero skillpoints, while veteran is the easier difficulty where you just can **** around as you start out with all skills on level 3, which is quite a lot of skillpoints.

if you skip recruit and play veteran you are missing as much as skipping veteran and playing recruit, but whatever floats your boat. good luck finding a way, doesn't look like it will be easy, judging by the trainer notes.
