I personally think that any species that is advanced enough for interstellar travel would have to have to achieved a stable relatively peaceful society otherwise they would of destroyed themselves long ago. So I think it's safe to assume they wouldn't be openly hostile unless they saw us as a threat and that won't happen for hundreds of years until we start to leave the solar system.
It's probable they have a sort of prime directive where they avoid interference with us and most likely would simply study us as we would mirror themselves 100s/1000s of years ago.
I think the whole skynet thing though is our biggest threat by far.
Get some perspective and stop listening to the environmental propaganda you hear all over the media.
65 million years ago the Earth was hit by an asteroid. that wiped out 90% of all life. Nothing we could ever do would amount to that.
Idk... with all the toxins in the air, animals dying; not to mention that massive oil spill that we can't fix. It's going to spread and get worse, and with our growing population, no one really knows when the earth will finally have enough of us, and we'll start running out of resources and just die off.
And I don't listen to that media bull****.
This IS my perspective.
Oh really oh wise one. How exactly would you know about any of this unless you had a source hence the media, you certainly haven't been getting this information based on your own findings that's for sure unless of cause you are a qualified biologist which I seriously doubt somehow.
What toxins are you referring to? What resources are running out? My point is short of turning this planet into a nuclear wasteland, nothing we can conceivably do will ever match any natural occurring phenomena which have occurred in the past. So the Earth (if it was an actual conscious being?) would see us as little more than a nasty rash. Look up past events such super volcanoes and ice ages before you jump to such narrow minded conclusions.

And he had a very good point (wtfhax I know, I know) about aliens more then likely having some sort of under-developed planet preservation pact (Yes I'm shamelessly ripping off star ocean 3 here) in that they don't overly interfere with planets that aren't as advanced as them.
to: Elite; Well, the media isn't a very reliable source. I think movies have better resources than those fakers.
