Well, you ordered a week before they started shipping them out. I didn't order mine until EVGA had already sold them all... >_>
I'm more interested in SH5. If I turn shadows on, framerates go through the floor. Oh, and FSX. Maybe I'll be able to crank that up to some level of reality. Even with two 295s, the most you can do with FSX is max the aircraft and have 20% scenery density at airports. Anything else overwhelms the computer.
SH5 looks better with the cartoony bells and whistles turned off. More realistic when everything doesn't glow. And in real life, you have to get way close to see the individual microfibres of peoples clothes.
Some retailers are so backlogged with orders they are finding it hard to stock up constantly.
I received an auto-notify from Newegg yesterday about the ASUS 480. Within seconds of receiving the message, I was on the site. I clicked add to cart, but they were already sold out. Less than 5 seconds, it was insane.
But there is something newish that will alleviate that somewhat, the new x6 core CPU's. Both AMD and Intel have theirs out now, and both require the new Mobo's that use USB 3.0 and SATA III.
But at this point, having 6 cores is kind of pointless. Nothing out there can use that many. I'll stick with my Quad-core i7 and spend the money elsewhere. Not that there are many programs that can use 4 cores...
But as usual Intel want extortionate amounts of cash, while AMD is not so much more than the 3.4ghz Phenom II quad core, in the UK about £100 more.
Intel's cheapest 6-core proc retails for $1,000. AMD's cheapest 6-core retails for about $270. Who do you think is going to sell more?
