Exactly, it almost seems pointless.

To be fair there's not that many better things you could have used that electricity doing.

Those are beyond pointless. Do they even think before coming up with an idea like that? So no one buys gas for a day, the gas stations will just make all that money back the next day. They know we literally can't do anything without the gas, if you don't buy it one day you will buy it another day.
