I think people also forget that they do not HAVE to update a game past the trainer level they have, once trainer updating has stopped. All the services mentioned, including Steam, can be forced to not update as long as you are not playing online, and offline is the only time we use trainers anyway.
I marvel at the wrongness of that idea.

This is well said, I think personally people should stop whining and then go and buy a plus unlimitied account too it might help with the complaints. I just appreciate all the hard work you do. I do have one idea to offer for all the whining how about a get out retirement fee of five times the regular cost of a game.

Just got back on after weeks of being sick and noticed this thread (I know, silly right? ).

A lot of folks also forget, that Microsoft is to blame in most cases, as the updates to Windows (those who uses Win 10 anyways) will render older trainers useless, no matter what, as well as the games themselves.

I'm just happy to have a place to go to when i'm stuck in a game, and need that little extra to make progress.

Thanks for all your hard work CH 😍

I'm basically new here, and definately understand where you come from. Before I even knew your website existed, I was making my own trainers for my kids and unlike drm free games, ended up having to buy copies of games I did not like so I could make trainers for my kids games, then found this website and wanted to kick myself. The $90 was well worth the cost.
I have a question though. I havent seen any games I have or my kids that are in retirement, except for Minecraft, which honestly, really doesn't need a trainer, since running a server has one basically built in. I noticed some hot games that have messages attached to them saying they were denied trainers because they were MMORPG, which is understandable. Thing here is, I noticed several that got turned down for a trainer, are in fact not MMORPG and the people who submitted for them, obviously did not put in enough information, because a few good titles that can use trainers, just happen to have the same name, like BlackHole for instance. There is an overseas MMORPG and a 8 month old game of the same name, and it could definately use one. The thing is, how does one get a denied trainer relooked at to show it is in fact a different game, and also, should a game get put into retirement, lets say the retired game ended up rebounding where it is very popular again. Can a retired game be pulled out of retirement, even if a number of people were willing to pay a fee for such a thing? Time is money. Nice post btw. Old for everyone else, new for me heh. 2nd time typing this. doesn't like emoji's.

@ sirXanthor Welcome to the site.

There is a list of Retired games at the bottom of this page:

And there's also a process for unretiring games if they get enough votes and CH approves:

EDIT: Update Re: Bring Back Retired Trainers Thread (Aka: BBRTT)
This feature has now been discontinued for a few reasons but mainly because our programmers now make so many trainers per month as well as updates and for multiple distributions that there simply is no time for them to routinely un-retire games now. Games are retired for significant reasons, reasons that usually don't change over time. CH is in the business of making trainers so retiring them is always a last resort and is never taken lightly.

@SelectiveMind. Couldn't put in quote because it was triggering some kind of security check.

MS I try to avoid like the plague. Windows 10 build 1703 caused me such data loss, over a months work gone and didn't even know it. I'm new here, but looking at the sections and topics, this place is huge so even if your a seasoned user here, it's easy to accidentally overlook something, even if it is stickied. And with being half blind, that doesn't help either. This place made things so much easier for me. Instead of spending $15+ for a game that I hate and making my own trainer, which tend to stop working as the data updates, I am able to get it here so it's win win. As for MS 10 build 1703, Microsoft failed to tell anyone about it and only now people are finding out about file ghosting and have lost a lot of important work. File ghosting is where a file shows up in the program your using, shows bytes, name, and even integrity checks pass most of the time. But go look in that folder, and find nothing. so many people who rely on file history and other backup programs that are part of windows 10 see a huge list and believe its all there until they go to restore and it fails. Then they check the location where it saved and only see 2mb instead of 75gb or higher. Similar to when you try saving data in the location the program is in and it shows the file exists, but actually doesn't. I have all my pcs set up to prevent 1703 from ever again rearing its ugly head lol.
