Whew... Thanks for the heads up. I was planning to buy the game, well I think I'll save my money for something better.
why do people always base their purchases on other people's accounts of the game??
I find this game very good, much better then the other C&C games.
I personally found the Stalker games rubbish, poorly handled gun mechanics, just outright crap, but there are players that love the stalker games completely.
So, you really can't judge a game solely on other peoples' judgements.....everyones' opinions are different to yours.
true. everyone has their own individual way of looking at things and their own opinions. just because a bunch of people don't like a particular game doesn't make it bad. i don't like these post-apocalyptic games...i find them too depressing but that doesn't make them bad games. same goes for C&C4..yea..DRM is a problem for most gamers..but that doesn't make it a bad game. i like this game and i've ordered it..DRM or not..i'll play it even if i have to stay connected all day.
The biggest issue here is that due to EA's extensive meddling, this isn't the C&C everyone knows anymore.
No infantry. No base building. No harvesting. No sniping the enemy harvester to starve them.
All this game is about anymore is throwing vehicles at the enemy until one side runs out of money.
Calling that "strategy" is like calling Uwe Boll a master filmmaker.
Alas....EA has always prioritized profit over art. Blizzard has shown us that the two could dwell together but EA is too stupid to change.
I wish for the good ol days when C&C was made by Westwood I only hope that other RTS don’t follow suite with EA. However Starcraft II looks to be on the right track.
I don't know about starcraft 2.The previews in magazines and online say the game has been simplified just like supreme commander 2.
Could tell me what magazines you have seen the previews in. I cant even find the release date for the game. But back on topic I can only hope that if EA makes any more Command and Conquer games they return to base building and bring back the strategy in RTS.
I'm seeing a recurring theme here...
Those of you who LIKED this game *cough* DON'T like the other C&C games.
Those of you who HATED this game (bravo), hate it because it's NOT like the others.
Soapbox time. This game has officially killed C&C. I don't care if you thought it was a good game. Those of us who have been following C&C since the good ol' DOS days KNOW what makes a C&C game...and this has none of it. They also took out most of what even makes an RTS. It's like they're trying to make a DoTA version of C&C.
EA is a fail company. Everyone should've realized that by now...doesn't matter what they touch, it turns to crap. (Other than anything Bioware does...their godliness at making games shines through the ****ing EA logo.) The C&C games have gone down-hill since EA took them over. This game, unfortunately, was the final nail in the C&C coffin.
Time to un-install this crap, and find my old Red Alert discs....
well said endersblade, i for one will not be buying this crap any longer. I have played all c&c games till date. But when red alert 3 came out, i knew it was the begining of the end for c&c. I seriously doubt that EA has any imagination (or even had it) left as far as developing true gaming components. They should however consider making games for 5 yr olds as thier new graphics can very well relate to them. Very disapointed. Westwood where r u, please come back?
