GTX480's are coming soon, with full DX11 support and it will slap ATI cards around the face.

Then it must be 10x expensive...

ATI cards are much more affordable than Nvidia cards.

    Havent you seen 5970 prices?

I reckon the GT460 will start around £300 and GTX480 start at £400.

Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

All Right Veteran, I Think I'll Go For GTX 295. Just A Few More Things To Know; 1)Will It Fit On My Mainboard (ABIT IP-35 PRO XE OFF LIMITS)?.
2)What Will Be The Bottom Price Which Includes Cooling And PSU?
3)Can't Afford An Expensive Casing At The Moment; Does It Affect Anyway?

    Thank You.

i'm using 2 GTX295s. i don't regret it one bit...not even the price. nvidia drivers r easy to install..un-install or update. so i'm good. if u have a full tower atx..then it should fit nicely. i think its about 11 inches in length...the 5970 is about 13 inches or maybe a bit more. one other thing...i buy only XFX.

[Edited by saurabhfzd, 2/19/2010 9:18:18 PM] if u're going to use 1 GTX295 then i think a 850W psu with a operating efficiency of about 85% should be more than adequate. u should also have a branded full-tower atx because it gives really good cooling which a gaming rig definitely needs.

very sorry for the double post. yes..5970 is very expensive and very fast too but not easily available..its a lot bigger too..probably the biggest gfx card out there. GTX480 is eagerly awaited..these r Fermi cards...but no release date as yet.

well..nVidia hasn't released much detail about its GTX470/480 cards except that its Fermi based. 'Fermi' is the code name for the NextGen CUDA architecture from nVidia. as nVidia likes to put it: 'the soul of a super computer in the body of a gpu'. according to nVidia it is the most advanced gpu computing architecture ever built with over 3-billion transistors and featuring upto 512 CUDA cores. and senior industry analysts have gone on record to say that it surpasses anything announced by AMD-ATI and that does include the '5970' too.

I would say if you plan on buying a huge PCI-e card and your going to buy a case, always buy a E-ATX case, it has more width and length to accomodate the cards without them being pressed closed to HD's.
