Empire: Total War Message Board  

Been playing this back and forth game like many of you. I download the new trainer for empire, steam updates and spoils the fun. Then I wait around until a new trainer is posted. For guys like me who could care less about the online play, is it possible to disable steam once we have secured a version of the game which is compatible with the trainer on board? Tried this once, was unsuccessful. Thanks for reading.

You can run Steam in offline mode, it's an option on the file menu, and this will prevent updates.

Right click the game in Steam and go to Properties. You can then go to the Update tab and tell it not to keep this game up to date.
