i seriously doubt its the hardware that causes the problem. i've run plenty of heavy games at high settings and rarely had a crash. more often than not..its the software that's a problem and i think that Bioshock2 is seriously bugged.

I'm now getting crashes at the part where it tries to log into Windows Live!

I have installed the full retail version and live automatically updated it with the latest patch. It runs perfectly good until I use the New Patch trainer. Not sure what it is that is causing the problem but here is what I am running in my system.

Not sure if I posted the information that would help. Also I am running the creative sb xfi. I will remove it and try again since I had seen someone else with a problem with their card. Ill let you know.

I was able to pull my card and reactivate the internal audio. The game did play with the trainer active. Looks like for me it was the Creative SB XFI. I hope everyone else is able to fix their crashed. Thank you to the person who mentioned his issues otherwise I may have never figured it out.

Happy to have helped shed some light. Borderlands still managed to crash at blowing up the blockade at the entrance to Skag Gully (as it always did), but Bioshock 2 & MW2 are working just peachy, and that is where my current focus is...

Crap, crap, crap! It's still doing it (so I put my X-Fi back in). The only thing I can possibly think of is that I use CL4 memory that requires me to set the timing in my BIOS manually & raise the DRAM voltage to have it run properly at the CL4 level.
Maybe I should reset the memory to the default values stored in the SPD... 🤔

Bishock 2 randomly crashes for me also. Just crashes to dekstop and gives me a program error message. I have the patched retail version of the game. Also using the latest trainer with the game.
Could it be, because of GFWL is incorporated into the game?
