It'll be interesting to see how China does though, they did really good at the Summer Games.

that's cause they've got gymnastics to excel in. They'll probably not do too bad but doubt they'll win by any means. In my opinion it'll be between US or Canada maybe.

A pair of brother/sister ice dancers and their sister, who competes individual ice dancing, have defected from the US team to the Japanese team. Damned dual-citizenship arrangements.

I'll probably only pay attention to the hockey, but it still looks to be exciting.

They're not showing the ski jumping prelims live. I'm bummed out. They're being tape-delayed to 7:30pm Eastern. Boooooo.

While the media seems to be oooo-ing and ahhhhhh-ing over the opening ceremonies, Dhampy is of the opinion that they sucked.

The spectacle and grandeur of large setpiece ceremonies is lost in this technological time. Spectacle and technology don't mix.

Neither do the Olympics and pop music.

The musical acts were HILARIOUS! Not only were the vocal tracks prerecorded, but so was the sound of this one guy's tap shoes. And the tracks were employed with such clumsiness that the performers actually gave up trying to look like they were singing, dancing, etc... and sloughed around the stage like fools.

Everyone tried to look cold, as befitting the winter games, but it was indoors. So as you see people fake-shivering in their cold weather gear, you saw sweat glisten on their faces, as if they've got the chills from a fever. It looked like a typhoid convention.

It sucked.

The guy who snowboarded through one of the olympic rings at the start was pretty cool...
What made me laugh was the fact that the lighting of the Olympic cauldron had technical difficulties.

And wow, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Netherlands already have a gold medal.

lol I didn't know that the Winter Games is going on up until I saw the logo on Google. Winter Games is such a fun event.
