I've been a bundle of energy all day today, since the Olympics start on Friday. Don't know if I've told you, but I freaking love the Winter Games.

The opening ceremony is Friday at 6pm Pacific time. That's...8pm real time, 9pm Eastern and...2am GMT.

But the first event is Friday morning...Ski jumping I think.

Anyway, here I'll expound upon the winter prowess displayed by various countries...and keep a medals count.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Glad you enjoy them, however had created nothing but problems here in Canada. Got constant hooligans protesting them and causing a lot of havoc infact. You even got aboriginals protesting them, however according to the article I read. They were protesting about the RCMP's presence as security and a compromise had to be reached where the local aboriginal reserve provided there own security for the torch route.

Than there is the hooligans who are trashing things and causing havoc or those who are peacefully protesting because they think the government has spent too much money on the games that could have been better spent fighting poverty and homelessness. They do have a point, however they don't realize that it's rather too late to protest about it as what's done is done. They are trashing things and causing a havoc over nothing.

What I find ironic about it is that the government is turning down funding to the military because we are exiting the war which is what our government always does to our military when we aren't enganged. While spending millions of this olympics that is fun but nothing more than a country ***** measuring contest. While expecting the military to provide security for it.

However politics aside, should be fun. I never have been a fan of the olympics however. Probally will not watch this one. Still, a lot of people enjoy them.

    I can relate.

When The Obamer was trying to get the Summer Games in Chicago, I was greatly relieved when he got eliminated in the first round of voting (I live at the north end of the Chicago Metro Area). There is nothing that can make hosting the games worth the hassle, but they're great to watch on TV.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

I can't wait till Saturday, the first Canadian hockey game is at 5PM PST. Women, Canada vs. Slovakia. It'll probably be an embarrassing loss for them seeing as we're simply the best period.

Canada losing at anything hockey-related would be embarrassing. It's the sport they're best known for.

Harrumph. The US women's team won in 2008 and 2009 in the world championships, over Canada and by significant margins (in 2009 anyway). We've got a crazy good goalie.

We'll probably take gold in Women's hockey.

But we'll likely not medal at all in Men's hockey. Not with Canada and Russia and Sweden all being tied for #1 in the world...and that's BEFORE the NHL'ers join the teams. But, we have won the U17 and U18 tournies the last few years, so we've got a bundle of good youngsters...maybe 2014? And maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.

My friend and I were joking that we hope the US gets the most medals (again) so that Obama has to apologize to the world for our people being so good and the rest of the world sucking so badly.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
