Sorry for starting a new thread, but not sure where to post my question otherwise.

Do you think that the time they give you to press mouse button for paragon/renegade action depends on how much influence you have? Like the more paragon you are, the longer time you have to press the button. Same for renegade. Coz *I think* I noticed the time increased with the more paragon points I've had, but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm?

Basically, I ask coz I've had to interrupt the dialogue to quickly press the button, which I didn't like. Maybe if they indeed give more time I won't have to.

I haven't noticed a difference in the amount of time you have to press the buttons. So if there is a difference, I believe it is marginal. I use F5 to save ever few minutes, so if I notice I missed one for not being fast enough, I just reload. My paragon and Renegade are both about maxed, but it seems the same as when I started the game with the maximum ME1 import bonus (+130 each?).

    @ Saucermote

See the thing, this is the whole point. Actions you do and things you say and saved even within your PREVIOUS saves. So if you reload the save before the action/conversation took place, it won't help. This action/conversation will be done even in your PREVIOUS save. That's why I usually ALT+TAB before doing some things and backup my current saves into another folder, so I can restore later.
That's why I would at least prefer to have time to think, instead of going into Windows and restoring backup saves. It's not hard though, takes a second and doesn't even require restarting the game.

So what you are saying is that if I save the game, then I play a bit and decide to Save a citizen;then I restore my save game and play a bit but decide to Kill the citizen...my game will proceed as though I had Saved the citizen with that character?

That doesn't sound right to me.

If I save the game before making a decision, then restore that save why would it save my previous decision? As far as the game should be concerned I never made that decision.

I guess this is to increase immersion into the game... if you can spend your time slowly thinking about every decision you have, then you can and will be able to make "educated" decisions that you might not have done in that situation.

I usually made paragon decisions, but there was once a renegade decision coming on first and I just took it. The goal of the game is to force us to make split-second decisions, much like in real life.

    So...

    No, this is wrong.

If you go back to a previous save it does not keep track of what you did before.

It even says "All unsaved data will be lost" whenever you try to Load. So technically if you want to play the game where you save, do something and then go back you can.

However, most of the effects of your decisions are not known until a while down the line, so this isn't effective in all circumstances.
