Which version do you have?

Try the English no-cd fix.

The trainer doesn't seem to work in the final Mission. Is this how it really is?

probably....the final missions has ALOT of stuff going on....like multiple squad stuff...entirly possible that is just doesn't work there....also, some of the dlc equipment (and modding in your own equipment) can cause parts of the trainer to not work

note: even on insanity as a vanguard i don't need the trainer...the ini editors can do ALOT of nifty stuff - the only one i bothered with was making it so powers worked on shielded targets
