Im not absolutely sure but L4D2 appears to have had an update at some point today.

No update detected here, ran last trainer without a glitch
hmm weird.. before i made the post L4D2 brought up the update dialog and did a few MB update before i was able to play..

There was a team fortress 2 update on the 6th and 7th, but that's the only update I've seen downlownloading.
