I personally think that Steam is great. It has improved a ton over its original release and I buy most of my games from Steam. Keeping DVD's is a thing of the past.

Not for people who have abysmal bandwidths and caps.

STEAM sucks because it auto-updates games and prevents the game from running if it is not updated. This really disturbs me because it take 3-4 hours just to get the game updated! And if my connection got restarted (My ISP is not so good, or may I say its worse), its back to 0% and the 3 hours have been wasted.

STEAM should go P2P, where one can at least resume downloads, turn off the PC when its too hot and turn it on again and resume the download.

If they have this resume download feature for you all, it does not have for me. This is why I refrain from getting STEAM games, I only get them if the game is too epic (Like Modern Warfare 2)...This just forces me to use a crack.

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

no matter how good STEAM is. i'm an ol' fashioned gamer. i need my hard copy in my hand. digital downloads don't do it for me. DVD's won't be a thing of the past simply because u think so...atleast not for the near future.

Its got its pros and cons. anything does. I enjoy it cuz certain games i want dont always show up around here when they should so havin a way to get them when they come out is very nice. but its also nice to have a hard copy if i suddenly feel like i want to play for a couple hours and then remove the game and go back to what i was playin for a short break not wait a couple hours for download and install of a whole game. took me 2 hours for modern warfare 2. but its also nice cuz unlike the guy who posted earlier i can leave and go to work or go to sleep or something and it wont stop or drop me most of the time.

so some good stuff some bad. thats the way it is. kinda like some people love walmart and others cant stand the place. different strokes for different fokes.
