I have a similar belief to this. The only difference though, is that I'm talking about after you die.
Let me try to explain.
Whether or not I'm wrong about God an whatnot, at least I have something to live for. When I die, I am going to die knowing that something better awaits me. And if I am wrong, then it's not like I'd know it. I would eventually be forgotten and no one even know I ever existed. My mind and soul would be lost forever, and I wouldn't even know that I was just lost.
You, on the other hand, have nothing to look forward to. You are ready thinking that you'll just rot in the ground. What fun is that?
Hope is the single thing that keeps humanity driving. That is the single thing that has kept us alive and moving throughout all these past years. And you may live a wonderdul, and fruitful life, but you've still got no hope for what lies beyond you.
I agree with that post, and would like to add: If christianity is wrong, then we have set all these morales for nothing, however, if athiesm is wrong, well...
