This game is well worth your money, especially if you love RPGs and want a game that will take the time to explain why the world is the way it is. The dialogue is so well written. Even the bits of fighting and conversation between your fellow party members makes the game seem more alive and real than games where the npcs just follow silently. Party members can even leave you, if you get them mad enough. It also affects their attitude towards you and changes their dialogue. DA:O is such an awesome world with people that aren't just two dimensional. Each has a past that affects how they interact with you, depending on what race and class you choose. In the end, however, it's you choice to buy it or not. I recommend it for people who love a good story and don't want to rush through a game and then complain it wasn't worth the money. Take the time to explore the world and actually talk to your party. There's plenty of humor and emotion with each character. About the only thing I wished they had done was to give the main character a voice, instead of just saying one liners or random yells when he/she attacks, opens a chest, or acknowledges a command. Otherwise, a worthwhile game to purchase.

The story was absolutely badass. My only disappointment there was that it was a tad short. There was a LOT of room, setting-wise, to create about twice the content that exists now, at release. I'm hoping they might expand the game along the lines already formed.

this game would have owned if the combat system reflected/mirrored non-classic rpg's combat system.

the only joy i get is when I'm a rogue with the power to attack faster and and link attacks like any normal person irl in those times.

That is unfortunate, I am playing the game, taking my time, exploring everything, and I love it. In today's gaming age however, there are many games out here and if one doesn't suit you needs another should. Good luck, hope that you find one that you love!

I hate 2 say, but this game is far away from RPG. The dialogs are have none but 2 option at the best case(baby-good or baby-bad). There is no way (for ex.), to take back the dwarwen throne by strength. And how could be in an RPG, that U can't attack any character U wish?!

Many-many thigs are missing from it, but if some1, met 1st time a game called RPG, this will be good as any other newly created games.

i have to counter this i think you'll find that most RPG's don't let you attack any character you wish (and if they do the important ones are always invincible/one hit kill you) the dialogue is actually quite a gray area a lot of the time, playing as a good person the first time around i ended up totally ruining Orzammar when i thought my actions were going to do the opposite! now that is an RPG when your actions have a totally different outcome to what you expect they will.

It's a great game. I just wish there was a multiplayer option, where you can play with others online.

Very much so, an addition like co-op would make this game many times more awesome.

I'm not saying that it is not awesome, however, it's one of the best games I've played in a long while.
