In other games, notably Fallout3, I am able to set a "free camera" using the console, which I can then guide using the WASD keys so I can take screenies from anywhere... ortho overhead views of my character, or building or terrain ~ whatever. Also I can rotate my 3rd person camera so I can see my PlayerCharacter's face.
Is there any way to do this in Borderlands?

From what I have seen, no. The only time you can view your char is from when he is entering/exiting a vehicle... that's just from what I've seen. I could be wrong but I've been playing it for awhile...Let me know if you found out you can
