Anyone had trouble starting the game and it says load saved game failed? It only allows me to continue without saving.

Yes, I have the same problem. I've uninstalled/installed several times, but no good. I started a ticket at "support.aspyr.com" but no answer yet.

I found out what happens. When the game installs it makes both the saved game folder and the config folder read only. I unchecked these and now it works fine.

Ok, I know I probably sound dumb, but where are these folders? I unchecked the ASPYR folder in My documents, but when I checked it again it was rechecked as read-only. I also unchecked the FORCE UNLEASHED folder under Program Files/Aspyr and it to had been rechecked as read-only when i looked at properties again. Any help?

After you uncheck read only. If you go back and look at it again it will be read only again. I just unchecked it and then played the game and it worked.

The config file is in a hidden folder c:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Aspyr. If I remember correctly.

I don't really understand that.
See, I got the same problem.
I am not able to uncheck that function of the folders,
but it's always set back.
I also tried unchecking the boxes, applied the options, but
didn't close the window. Didn't work either.
So, could you please give us detailed information how you managed
to solve the problem?
