What I don't think ES quite gets is that the random hooplah weaves a dramatic dialogue of life and forms a cohesive narrative on a grand scale. These threads could be collected and published like how FML and whatnot has collections they publish.
That's right to an extent, but I think we could do away with the "Lol guys I just had a sandwich" crap and nobody would care.

I've had many intense, serious conversations where someone joins in and says "I just had a pbj" or "smell this, guess what I just did" and puts his fingers under your nose.
