just use the workaround
What workaround?
BtW, here the game (Sith Ed., 1.1) crashes a few times, maybe if i lose the mission. I dont know whether its a problem of the game or the trainer.
Your AV or something may be blocking the trainer from reading the key. Also, it will only look for it if the internet is completely disconnected.
Because it's a game-killer, I'm not running any AV at all when I'm offline (which is most of the time), I don't know what else could be blocking the trainer from reading the key, can you suggest some things to check or disable?
And I've already tried it when the computer was physically disconnected; it didn't work, so that isn't it.
When I'm physically unplugged from the internet, I open the trainer, it gives me the authentication required message, but it doesn't find the key, even though they're in the same location on the computer. I then have to physically hook into the internet and then actually open a browser (it doesn't work to simply be hooked into the internet) to be able to use the trainer. Once the authentication happens, I can then close the browser and unhook from the internet again.
I frankly don't understand why the trainer has to be authenticated (every time it's used, no less) once it's downloaded. I've never run into this with trainers before.
I'd hate to have to set up a dedicated line or wireless connection for this computer for just this one program.
