Problem with my VGA Driver

    I have nVidia GeForce 8500 GT and when I want to update my driver on Vista SP2. I cannot!

    I cannot Install a driver newer than 169.25 !!!

    Please help.

    3. Select Option 2. Say yes to all prompts.

    I think he knows how to get the driver, but it wont install.

    This could be because you are trying to install the driver not on an Administrators account.

    Or try this if you are administrator, uninstall the old driver first, then restart PC, install new driver. It should work that way hopefully.
    Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

    That's right, I have the driver but I cannot install it.

    I tried it, but nothing happened.

    You can try manual installation where you extract the exe file using WinRAR or 7-Zip or whatever you use for archives to a temporary folder.

    Use Device Manager to locate your current graphics driver and click "update". In the update wizard, select the "Have Disk" option or whatever is similar to it. Browser to the folder you extracted to and select the .inf file.
