Care to link to these specific posts that say the corruption happens because of hacked saves?

If you'd care to read the forums you keep pointing to, you'd notice the cause as being something a bit less insidious. Namely, the host disconnecting before you can properly save.

"Borderlands was made for consoles and the PC version is a crappy port, there are MANY problems with it, most of which don't affect everyone - erwing"

erwing you should really read up on the subject you speak of. according to the Randy Pitchford (the CEO of gearbox) Borderlands was developed and created for PC first and foremost. his words exactly from Maximum PC nov issue : "The first thing is we author our content on the PC. With Borderlands we're not porting the game to PC, we are starting there. The PC is our development platform. The best looking version of the game that you're going to get is on PC." SO its NOT a port TO PC but the other way around. which means your rants are useless like you are

Erwing usually brings good comments and info to CH. But this time, I'm afraid he's a bit off. First, there's no way to know if someone's modified their save before you've played with them right off the bat. Second, it's NOT the save file that corrupts anything. It's people modify the server host files, such as the .ini files. They immediately effect the game of anyone else connecting. Hosted, and been a player of; rooms with modded saves. Never had an issue regarding it. People love to mod the .ini files w/o wtf they're doing and mess up the system on their end. Then host rooms and screw everyone else over.

As to the post above me...you're right. Google for 30 secs you'll find the 3 main ones if not more by now. Most people use the 2 that were posted (linked to) on just the boards here. lol
Rick's is probably the most common. Even I use it now just to save myself the time when weapon editing.
Grammar and punctuation is the difference between; "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse." ...and... i helped my uncle jack off a horse.
