Help!!!! I am at level 32 and cannot seem to finish the 1st mqin quest to get through the wall to human territory. I am 62 years old so please cut me some slack and give me specific instuctions. Thanks so much. I am playing the shadow warrior.
Aso what do the blue arrow side quests accomplish?

if you are playing the light campaign, then go to the save post near the gate. there is a path the is just below the slight hill upon which is the save post. follow the path and it will lead to an elf with a yellow "speak to me" symbol. he will unlock a gate further down the path allows you to enter a cave. the cave leads you into the next area.

blue side quests are character specific. for shadow warrior, i believe you get an axe weapon when you finish all of the blue quests. each character type has its own set of quests and different rewards.
