Is anyone else having a problem with the a freeze up in the mine level? Playing it on Win7 X64 DX10. I am installing on my XP partition to see if same thing happens in XP X86 too. It freezes up my entire OS too. Cannot ALT-Tab out of it. Can anyone comment on this or at least advise that this is happening to someone else too and if so is there a way to work around this? Thanks.

Probably a lack of video memory may be the reason. Lower your settings or think of upgrading your RAM or your graphic card.

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

I'm running an i7 with 6 Gigs of RAM. Video card is a Sapphire ATI HD4850 X2 (Two 1 gig chips on video card). 🤔

What I am noticing is that the lockup appears to occur when I am running or randomly when I am firing weapons. BTW I cleared the mines level (after several lockups and reboots) and same problem is occuring on swamp level.

I am hoping that it is not because I have an ATI card and that this game is made to play on NVIDIA cards only.

Please let me know what you think.

I also just purchased RE5 for the PC and the game is locking up very often. I have logged in to games for windows and it still freezes. If I start up the game and leave it idle at the main menu it will lock up. Same goes for during gameplay. It also locks up when I am actually moving around. The entire comp has to be restarted once this happens.

I have a Q6700, 8800gtx, 4gb ram etc. I have tried lowest to highest settings and both DX9 and DX10 and the game continues to lock up. If anyone knows anything to try, please help us.

Sounds like we are having the same problems. I guess that we will have to wait for CAPCOM to release a patch that fixes this.

    Edit Reason: Format error occured
