Would I need to purchase the extra content to use the possible upcoming Trainer?

The upcoming trainer is for the gold edition of the game. CH is taking this DLC as a separate game and as such, it will have a different trainer than the vanilla RE5 trainer.

Or at least that's how it looks so far. Thing is, when I tried to use the vanilla RE5 trainer it didn't work on my game, since I updated mine with the DLC. So don't know whether ultimately we will be getting two trainers for RE5 and RE5 gold editions or CH will simple remove the RE5 (vanilla) trainer section from library altogether.

Thanks for the updated trainer guys! Just thought I'd mention that the game doesn't feature dx10 anymore.

its NOT LIKELY that we will be updating the normal RE5 trainer from 100 years ago. we basically updated the trainer for the new GOLD version.

OK I'm still looking for an answer to make cheat happens trainer for RE5 (NOT GOLD EDITION) to work since the recent update, every time I open this older version from 2009, the game kept crashing. Is there a way to make it to work?

If I'd dug this far in before buying RE5 (is there even a GOLD Edition in Steam?) I wouldn't have made the purchase. I'm just spoiled I guess...I loves me some cheats! The trainer for RE4 worked just fine, though. I can only hope the RE6 one doesn't wreck the game...

What happens if you do not own the gold edition because the old trainer isn't active anymore. I can't make the old trainer work anymore so someone pls help?
