Indeed--this is something pretty much everyone in this thread is ignoring and it's something which makes many of their points invalid.

yes I am a pirate... a petty thief for some......but if there were no pirated games ...I wouldn't be buying them/playing them.....and ultimately i wouldn't need a premimum membership in CheathAppensdotCOM....

Given that software is one of the few items on the market that denies customer their usual rights,(Once you install software you have no right whatsoever to return it unless its broken and even then it can be a real pain to do it) , I see no problem with piracy as it is.

Too many corporations are pushing forward to make us customers merely consumers with no rights whatsoever.

Age of Conan was the final straw for me, after paying to be a beta tester for several months I'll be damned if I pay to support another software that isnt even worthy of shareware status..

Piracy is simply another way to decide if the software in question is actually worth the money they demand... And as most "pirates" put on their nfo. file.. "If you enjoy the software, buy it to support the producers"

I for one would like to know what Im going to spend money on before spending it. It doesnt make me a thief, only a smart customer rather than a mindless consumer that accepts whatever gets thrown my way....
