Ok i screwed up and stumbled onto lamplight early and killed my way through the vault and retrieved the geck without having the quest. I didn't know what it was until after I got it. So now i'm 6 hours more into playing and finally have the quest and went back to go through the motions to see if it would activate and nothing. I ran through twice and can't get it to trigger. So is there a way for me to bipass that part or something? I really hate lose all of the other stuff I've done just to go back and start over...

thats why i usually make like three to four saved games in case some thing like that happpens

I wouldn't care if it was just redoing that area or something but I've done the entire water purifier quest after that so I would have to redo all of that which I don't want to do. Kinda depressing, this is suppose to be fun. (which it is I just hate that they let you screw up a quest it should be blocked till activated or something.
