    Unlock Pre-order Flammenwerfer:

    In Wolf.cfg, found in:

    C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\id Software\WolfSP\base for WinXP

    or

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\id Software\WolfSP\base for WinVista or Win7,

    change the following line:

    seta g_unlockedFlameDLC "0"

    to

    seta g_unlockedFlameDLC "1"

The weapon can then be picked up when you start a new game or replay the Train level, on the table in the kitchen where you first pick up a weapon.

All you get is a flamethrower? I'd rather just wait for the price to decimate itself then just modify the file. (which you just instructed) It is just an arcade game after all.

    Thanks for the info mate

what? you already get a flamethrower in game without that DLC :/

and technically, this is piracy, so beware

Eh, bit of a gray area. It's in the game, you as a consumer have a right to modify your program so long as you don't actively circumvent any copy protection (Under the DMCA) and editing a text file certainly isn't that. Legally you're probably fine if you unlock the content.

However, morally we know that Id and Activision don't want you to unlock it, as it deprives them of potential income. IE if you really wanted the flamethrower early you might have chosen to pay extra.

This is already in game so... For me no problem. DLC are for greedy devs like EA - only fallout DLC are worth anything, all other are just plain crap.
    Sorry for my English.

Maybe you would like to explain how this equates to piracy "technically"? I don't see any copyrighted materials changing hands anywhere since, as you said, the flamethrower is already ingame.

If this equates to piracy, I think editing Wolf.ini to enable the cheat menu also equates to piracy? and that also includes many other games where you have to enable the console via editing ini files...

And "technically" since the flamethrower is already ingame, I would hardly consider it to be a DLC (DownLoadable Content), even if the label for it in the ini file is "FlameDLC" as nothing is required to be downloaded...

nephilim: I didn't preorder, but according to this article, preordering is actually cheaper. Link So I don't think they expect gamers to pay extra $$ to get early access to a weapon that is already ingame.
