This game is totally boring.many people liked this game,so I bought it,played for 2 days, hated it,then gave it to a friend...
Unlike TES4:Oblivion,in Fallout3 you have nothing to find in a pointlessly big world. All of the wasteland looks the same.
And they didn't show apocalypse well.Radios which were used in 50's are still being used in this imaginary 2250,guns are a mixture of WWII ones and future ones,it doesn't make sense for me.

uhh well think about it if you have played all fallouts you could know why they have WWII and future weapons
They aren't going to be like with flying cars because DC was destroyed by nuclear
The radios are from 50's because if you were like three dog and have those songs you would put them.
TES4: Oblivion had been much bigger map but if you haven't bought the other addons you couldn't know other cities like pittsburgh(fail spelling) and other locations like adam's airforce base which you have much enemies to kill trolling is just stupid

Ok... have to say my piece here.... I 💛 Fallout 3. It's got the feel of the original down pretty damned well. If you've played any of the previous Fallout games, you'd know that the Fallout universe is one in which technology progressed faster than our civilization did; hence it being still all about black and white TV and radios with old music, even though the weapons and robots and such are way ahead. New wars that didn't happen in our world like the Chinese taking over Alaska and others happened that forced advances in anything useful for war, way ahead of the rest of society. BUT, they did prepare for nuclear war, using that technology, just like they had a lot of fallout shelters in the 50s, they went crazy for the Vault idea in the Fallout world... and it saved SOME of them.

Now as to the game specifically... it's a first/third person RPG/shooter. They changed it from a fully isomteric top-view turn-based into this, and I think it was a great choice since they had to go from 2D to 3D graphics... It works well. The graphics are great, and what you'd expect to see in a post-apocalyptic wasteland... the creatures are cool, and some are direct throwbacks to the original games which helps continuity... Mirelurks are new, but you didn't have large water bodies except pretty much the ocean nearby in the original Fallouts... so that makes sense... Not to mention that the game is incredibly extensible... with the G.E.C.K. from Bethesda, you can make mods that change any and every aspect of the game, and people have... I run, right now, over 60 mods on my game, adding new features, changing some things, One is, since I was after the main quest, I installed one mod that changes the wasteland into a fall look with the trees full of brown leaves instead of just dead sticks... and more grass and such... and I have a secret home in the small dead town near Megaton... and more... And since if you're here, you're probably a cheater. You can pretty much edit any aspect of your character on the fly... player.setav (stat) (value) will set any of your attributes or skills immediately to that value... and doing a tgm toggles god mode! Need stuff? Player.additem (code) will add anything from the game into your inventory - the code lists are online. If you *haven't* played it through, you need to. This game rocks. If you have, and it was "too confusing" or "not fun" then go back to your arcade fare, and leave us our great game without your dour "its lame" comments, please.

    Thanks.

P.S. There have been mods to allow play after the main quest for a LONG time, nearly since it's release... and now one of the DLCs allows you to continue after the main quest without the mod... So.... it is not so short as you might have thought.... and there are side quests EVERYWHERE that you may not have found those who thought it was an empty wasteland. Just hints. Don't give in so fast.
