Demo Really sucks but after playing battlestations midway it is a vast improvement over that it has better graphics and control than midway

Something besides "sucks" would actually describe an opinion. It would be a lot better to say certain points of the game that you feel inadequate somehow, that you feel the game "sucks" doesn't say anything, actually.

It's a neat little game, definately not the best game ever, but still quite good due to it's very well executed mix of naval and air combat, and some strategy and commanding involved as well. Other games have had this approached, and failed much worse than this series. (Battlestations)

A full blown MP game with 8 people fighting against and with each other can most definately get really awesome, and campaign mode can also become quite the gem, if done well. Skirmish is a welcome addition, even if it probably wont be a sensational experience.

Definately an above par game, decent in all senses. (~7-8/10) In my opinion

the one thing I didn't like from the demo is the lack of feedback when your getting hit in an aircraft.. in midway you got grit and stuff on the screen, and the airplane started smoking like halfway down the hp bar..

in pacific the hp bar just drops then you die, you dont get any sort of visual feedback from the plane itself..

while it could just be like that in the demo, It takes awy from the imersion to for me..

Still looks like an awsome game though!

Well.. I don't you can really compare the 2..
Your never outside of a vehicle in Battlestations,
while Battlefield doesn't have naval combat.

    I give the demo a 8.5/10

In an aircraft when you get hit lots of smoke comes out of the plane, if it gets a direct hit by enemy fire it explodes or breaks apart in mid air.

IMO the works on texture mapping and 3D modeling has improved a lot compare to BS:M, not to mention lots more visual effects added to the game. For me it is definite worth buying.

I'm a total noob with Battlestation games.

I have been giving this demo a run and it looks promising so far.

my only question, when you create units from your airfield or dock, can you give them orders to go fight, controlled by the AI, or do I have to control each of them myself.

So far, I can create multiple units, but the ones I am not controlling just fly around in circle over my base.

    What gives?

press Tab and you open the tactical map, then you just click on the unit you want to select and then click where you want it to go, the enemy to fight, etc etc,

Battlestation midway and pacific is essentially a RTS game which allows you to control one of the units under your command..

much like Men of War's Direct control feature.. (which company of heroes stole imo, men of war was released first)
