Call of Duty: World at War Message Board  

I cant call in air strike on the 2 Japanese tanks! I hit 6 then put white circle of tank then right mouse button and nadda thing happens! Whatzz up?

I think its left mouse button.

yes you are right, right mouse button but no air strike comes in!!

I'll share with you that I had this same problem. It's hit '6' to use Equipment. In this case the radio. Then the circle appears which you target where you want the strike and then hit the left mouse button (per the on-screen text). However it only worked for me right after you leave the beach when you are told to call a strike for the bunker up ahead (something like that). With the tanks and in a much later level (Shuri Castle) of the game the call for an air strike keeps failing.

I'm trying to determine whether the 1.3 patch vs the 1.4 patch will make a difference or not. I'm also using the corresponding 1.3 vs 1.4 trainer. Someone in a later post said that in the later level at Shuri Castle the trainer trainer was what caused the failure to call in a strike and to play the level without the trainer.

I tend to hate historical or otherwise first-person shooters that add aliens and/or zombies and World at War does both but here goes...

At the beach where you are later in this level stuck with the tanks you can try this bizarre easter egg. After you successfully take out the bunker with your one and only air strike that works go back to the beach and facing the land walk to the far right and step in a distinct crater of water for a few seconds. Then walk to around the middle of the beach...ocean on the left and land on the right...and find another crater/puddle of water and stand in it for a few seconds. Finally walk the rest of the way and find a last puddle of water with some barbed wire in it and stand there for a while. You will first feel some rumbling, then hear some strange voices, and finally see four or so statues each holding an alien ray gun in their mouths. Take a ray gun! Work your way to the tanks again and use the ray gun to take out the tanks instead of calling the air strike. Worked for me. But it may not be the end of your problems as it wasn't the end of mine. Unfortunately you can only play this level with the ray gun.

Does anyone know if from the PC in-game console you can call up the ray gun when you are trying to take out the machine gun in the north building at Shuri Castle? This would be a good way to put me out of my misery getting though that mess! Thanks and good luck.

If I'm right, I think I remember the game a bit, then its left mouse button not right.

Ok I will try these methods out this weekend.

It's not the wrong mouse button I am using because it does work calling in air strikes when you first hit the beach. It is just the tanks that the air strikes don't work on. Tnx again...Alto

I cannot call an airstrike either on the 2 tanks...and I haven't even patched the game.

This sucks, and it happens trainer or no trainer...though I haven't started the game over using no trainer.
