how do i change the resolution to 1440x900 and with 32 bit colors? i would greatly appreciate it

The only way I found that out was through the regedit. Follow this path if you are using WinXP

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Sierra On-Line>Homeworld.
The last 3 items are what need to be edited, and be sure you change the base to decimal for all the three values first.
screenDepth: 32
screenHeight:900
screenWidth:1440

If you, like me, are using windows 7 64 bit, the path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Sierra On-Line>Homeworld

Also make sure you dont change the graphics settings later in the Video menu. The details can be set when you are playing the game.
