    Hi guys I have a rather silly problem here. I have the steam version of Dark Sector, and I can't play it -- everytime I try to adjust the resolution the game either crashes to desktop or Windows Explorer stops working. I.e., the game won't work in any resolution higher than 800x600! I haven't tried lower resolutions, and I do not feel like to.

    So am I the only one having this problem? Do anyone know of a cure? There's nothing about this on Google, so, here I am, clueless

    Alright found the cure myself. It seems this problem is specific to Vista systems. The game puts its config file in its installation directory, which is not allowed in Vista (or so I'm told).
    So to chang the resolution one must change the config files directly. The file to change (for steam) is
    //Steam folder//steamapps/commons/darksector/Configs/DS.cfg
    Then it'll work.

    I have the retail version with the same resolution issue. My Adobe won't read the files you are telling me to go to for some reason. I have XP OS.

    What do you mean Adobe won't read files? Just use notepad to open the .cfg file, that's it.

    Though I didn't think this would happen on XP 'cause nobody is mentioning it. Try editing the files with notepad, and see if it works.
