does anyone still play this game and if so how can I run it on XP? I installed it and made it so it was under windows 98/ME compatibility but after I got past the character creation screen it went all black and I was leasving pointer trails all over it that didn't disappear

it was a fun game that I was looking to play again when I was bored

Have you updated to version 1.2? The games auto-updater prolly doesn't work anymore so you'll need to find the patch elsewhere. I recall the game playing perfectly on my XP box after applying the patch.

weird it was patched to 1.2, it didn't work on XP unless I set the compatibility to 98/ME. I'm going to try to reinstall it and try the base game

looks like I was wrong, the 1.2 version works fine on XP

any idea where to get that nox quest addon since Westwood isn't around?

Oh I remember this game. My father and I used to play it. He was better at it. I kinda sucked, especially when facing Hecuba. I really loved the wizard class and you could get more money for your earthly clothes in a shop just outside that wizard castle. Warrior wasn't too bad either. Conjurer required too much skill.
