I have seen the oppisite happen. for some strange reason every one likes me. except the UK and Austria who declared war on me after i eliminated the UP. Apart from that no matter how many territories i take everybody seems happy to let me take them.
It's difficult to "serve a person". But it is far more difficult to bring up "people who serve".

I'm playing as maratha this last go around and they like me as well, in fact I've been declaring wars just so they stop liking me. A little side of effect is that out of the last 75 turns i've had a minimum of 5 diplomatic offers to buy some of my territory with some very pathetic offers (the AI seems to think that a single piece of technology is worth 300,000 gold). Oh I even had one of them try to buy my biggest population city of 55 million people and what they offered was a single piece of farming tech, and they wanted me to pay THEM 25,000 gold. These offers come in every single turn at least 3-5 of them its quite annoying.

Well if any of you ever read the damn reviews you'd understand that there is a diplomacy problem,that Creative Assembly hasn't patched yet.
