Well normally if you attacked the senate when you get enough popularity, The senate would attack you and possibly the other 2 roman familys. I did it with about 3 full squads of men, which meant i lagged like hell ^^

best strategy is to encircle the city of Rome with 9 armies and then declare war on them so u have a rly mighty siege force.

Sorry for the bump, but the topic's only a few months old, and the last post was only 2 months ago, and still helpful.

I've played this game since it came out (that I can't remember, but I know I got it when it was new) and the best thing I've ever done when it comes to the other Roman families is...don't attack them.

Just get enough money (or cheat) then get lots of Assassins and spies (for when one gets killed. Then get a spy inside the Senate's town then get assassin's to murder the important people inside the towns, and destroy the buildings. Save before each mission, and if fail, load it back in if you wish to try again (sometimes it may fail once, but not again...or fail again but not the third time).

If you fail or succeed, they don't declare war and you're safe. So you don't really lose. But get the assassin's some experience first by slaughtering random diplomats and soldiers on the map near the place, so they stand more of a chance of succeeding...and getting away with it!

    Hope it helps
