1.01 is for the patched game, it's not a update to the trainer as such.

Retail edition is using build 2240 and DIE also used this for their cracked release.

When connected to Steam via a legit account that owns the game it'll update some of the files to build 2255 and show 1.1 or perhaps it was 1.01 in the main menu.

I also get the occasional crash now and then but I'm experimenting to see which option(s) causes it.
(Happens randomly, doesn't seems to happen without the trainer but needs more testing, using the EU edition of the game based on tools to decipher ClientRegistry.blob file though I'm unsure if the US edition is different aside from the additional languages and the inclusion of a low-violence for restricted countries like Germany.)
