You can select the coin match option from the Brawl Centre. Select 'Rules(Options)' and change the settings from 'Time/Stock' to 'Coin'.
A coin match is a race for the highest amount of coins collected. Coins are released when a character is attacked, the value of the coin is based on the size of the coin or the quality of the damage. E.g.Bronze > Silver > Gold > Banknote. You cannot play Coin matches on Wi-Fi Connection.

Coin matches r great! have tried playin on a created stage where the whole stage is boxed in!?! thats a funny match
