Have downloaded the editor and it works brilliantly. It is a piece of software that has brought a real smile to my face

I have been trying to get loads of goodies by playing the end bosses in multiplayer. The chars are pretty tough cos I got killed loads before I edited them.

Once again many thanks for your time and effort

I'm glad to hear that, jimbouk.

And I have some questions. Mainly considering available skills. Has someone tried to use it to add more than 10 skills? I'm curious if one sets available skills to (for example) 20 and then goes ingame and chooses some new skills. I'm curious if the absolute max value of possible skills ingame is 16 and how the game reacts if the said value of possible skills is bigger. I remember using the trainer in the earlier version of game to add more skills than 10 but I can't recall what was the max possible skills I coul put (but I remember there was a limitation ).

If someone has tried it please drop the word. If not I will check it as soon as I get back from work.

    karach0s, I can answer that:

Default maximum for number of skills is 10, but I have been able to again 6 extra skills (more like ghost skills). Of course I was using an OLDER VERSION of the Editor. Though I'm sure, the LATEST version has the same effect.

I don't know if some find this good or bad, but the 6 extra skills I've gained have been an UNUSUAL BONUS for me. Even if they are not visible, they have a significant effect in boosting my characters. So for me, 10 is nice, but 16 is better.

I'm not making any recommendations though, I'm just saying yeah, you can have as many as 16 skills altogether.

If this side-effect is not good for MP-mode (I don't use MP any way), then I understand. But, I personally like the 6 extra (ghost) skills. Keep up the good work, karach0s!!

    simple:

open editor--> choose character--> set number of AVAILABLE SKILLS to 16--> save--> load game--> Cha-Ching! You now have 10 skills + 6 extra (ghost) skills!

The 6 extra skills function like the normal 10, even if they are not visible. It actually gives your character an EXTRA BOOST!

    Have fun cheating!

True. Although new skills will not be visible ingame, but they will make difference, as indianwhite says. Being not visible, you cannot add points to them ingame, but the editor allows you to do that.

I have confirmed that setting available skills to more than 16 will not make it possible to choose more than 16 skills ingame. That being the case it is not possible to corrupt the savegame that way (which I was afraid of, but evidently Ascaron programmers somehow predicted someone would try ).

I have also fixed one more small bug (it could occur if someone tried to load a hardcore character that died and crashing the editor - maybe that's what happened to you Funest). It should not happen now.

You can download the fixed release here: LINK DELETED. Please use the latest, bugfixed version a few posts below.

On the side note, I was curious where the achievements are stored. After a short investigation, I have discovered they are stored in one file which is used by all your chars - you guessed it, the chest.sacred2chest file. The sad thing is that while the decoder (s2dec.exe) can decode those chests, it couldn't encode them back to the way the game would recognize them (at least not form me). So I guess it's no achievement editing for us.

By the way does anyone know the homepage of the decoder, or the author, or anything like that? I'm curious if it is being updated (apart from chests it works quite well so I guess there is really no reason for it, but...).
EDIT: Well, I have searched high and low and ventured into some Russian forum. It seems the decoder is not updated. It's sad news.
As a curiousity I have also found some other save editor here: Link. However it's not quite as good as the one released here (if I do say so myself ).

Im having difficulties to reply on this forum, dunno why.
Many thanks to you Karach0s and the done job, and kudos to anyone who gave an interest to the editor.
Edit: Survival Bonus is gone though, anyway you could change that Karach0s ?

Just noticed your nice piece of software here, i'm looking forward to trying it tomorrow.

    - As am idea for a upgrade: in the game, the given char has a +% of dmg to the various races. my highest is about 72% - i am guessing theese numbers are set on how many of the given race the char has encountered and killed since creation, and that the number can be higher than 72 - or even 100. which will give the char a instant kill ability with a value of lets say 10.000.000.

I will post a a fresh char with kill values and ss (of what the heck i am talking about) tomorrow when i turn on the computer.

And yet agien. - Thanks bud. i envy your Matrixness (of DOOM).

    - As for people who cant apriciate a puplic service like this: Please stop beeing childish! The key to a answer, is a question!
