shomting wird is going on when roebuck dies he is still talling the story wtf!!!!!! is he dead or alive or wunded? 🤔

Before Start Mission he is still talling the story.

If you want one or the other to be saved (I choose the Sarge) you continue down the stairs & jump over the small railing a few feet before you get to where they all are, and move about till you can get a bead on the Japs, remember you can't kill either of your guys in normal play with friendly fire, but you can only save 1, I have tried to get both out with a mortar bomb in between and behind the Japanese soldiers. It's a very frustrating part, but gotta love them mortar/bombs

Simply said: You MUST let one of them die, Polonsky or Roebuck, it's scripted to be like that and it is impossible to save both of them, WITHOUT MODDING THE GAME. Of course you have to choose, but until then they will constantly be struggling/fighting each other till your final decision.

I shot the Japanese soldier attacking Roebuck and Polonsky died

I think in the end when Roebuck dies your remembering what he says at the beginning of the mission that take the castle and we all go home. When Polonsky dies it's like Roebuck remembering what he told his Polonsky
