Its been awhile since I made a relavent topic here...I've been pondering this in my mind for quite some time, why isn't or will there ever be a WWI game? I know there have been minor attempts if you even want to call them that at a WWI game but I'm talking about a real backing by the Call of Duty team or EA to open their eyes and realize they got a great format just sitting on the shelf.

I mean I love WW2 too, its probably my favorite time in history but at this point hasn't it been done to death...what about our great grandfathers who sacrificied just as much (if not more) for their countries. We all know about D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, Market Garden etc...what about the Battle for Vimy Ridge, the Somme and Flanders?!

Maybe I'm a little too gung-ho over this but honestly haven't we all had it with WW2? You might say well what about Modern Combat? I'm not much of a fan of Modern Combat really, back then you had real wars fought man-to-man not push a button and eliminate an army a million miles away. Seriously, wouldn't it be cool to storm the field at Flanders or blaze through the blinding snow at Vimy...over the barbed wire, bodies and shells, man I could just picture it now.

I guess maybe I've been watching too much history channel, the show For King and Country is truly something every Canadian should see...gives you a new, profound respect for this forgotten generation. Well anyways, its been kicking around my skull for awhile now...

    Discuss.

A game about spending months on end in trenches and getting all manner of diseases doesn't seem like much of an enticing game to me.

WWI is boring... The US entered at the end of it practically. To make a good one, They would have to squeeze the cow for all her milk on this one. I'm not saying that they couldn't do something interesting with the french or the Britain forces, but i think it would come out to point shoot game, And those aren't just as fun anymore. It would probably be more intresting if they did it with germany's point of view. Reguardless that the lost and were forced to pay over 30 billion in damages <_<

    You forgot completely about Canada.
As far as I am concerned, a World War I game based on Canadian missions would be quite the video game.

Amen. And I must say to not see a enticing Campaign based on WWI is pretty dim on the part of both of you, the world hasn't always revolved around the US. But that's fine everybody has there own opinion and I respect that...you should simply look more into it, the same rifles used by the British and Canadians in WWI were the same as WWII.

I swear I was thinking about that like days ago, maybe because WW2 has more things to talk about and more and better weapons, maybe....

but WW1 would be cool too, if hey just try it....

Set it in August 1914 or the Hundred Days and there are no trenches.

edit- or the Eastern Front or Palestine, for that matter.

They could spin it a hundred ways. Bottom line- It wouldn't hurt to try...

You have Americans, British, Canadians, Russians Germans and a small letter list of other nations, I don't see how it could be unrelatable...
