Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA 4) Message Board  

i know it is in app data but i want to know the address so i can get it with the "RUN" program...
for example
c:\dacuments and setting\application data\and......

I just don't get it, why GTA IV wants to "hide" the savegame...
If someone download a 100% savegame thats their problem.
I can't even backup my save because I don't know where it is...

C:/Documents and Settings/[your name]/Local Settings/Application[can't remember the second half]/Rockstar Games/GTAIV/savegames

note 1: i think it's application data.
note 2: the file are hidden so go to folder options(in control panel) and set it to view hidden folders

i dont get it you cant use a savegame thats not made on youre system right ? or can u ? If yes can someone tell me how so i can try it aswell ?

all i did to find the saves was this
1.run the RUN program
2.write:local settings
3.find the rockstar game
4.the saves are in there

On Vista Savegame is saved @
C:\Users\[Your Name]\appdata\local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames

You also have some Folder named user_[16 charakters]
You have to copy the files in it and put them after reinstall or when you downloaded the game the files from that folder to yours.
(SGTA400,SGTA401 etc)
